If he has turned down a massive contract offer at Hull FC then it's possible that money isn't his motive.

Would the fact that Hull have increased their offer several times, make him wonder how valued he was in the first place by them? Only after other offers had clearly been made did they offer him what he believed he was worth?

It's called negotiating. I doubt that the deal that his agent appears to have agreed with Saints was the 1st one on the table.

I'll be over the moon if we have signed him, I've always liked him and like the style of rugby he plays but I'm not sure I'd have took him on a 3yr deal.

I think we know we are in urgent need of someone in the style of Manu and the fact he's off quota has pushed his price up.

If that is the case, he's making a habit of it of late.

With Flannery going, Pearson announcing this does not put anyones nose out of place at our club though. It would be different if say Sia was still negotiating and this was announced. It may take a bit of sparkle of the announcement or make him look silly if Catalans get him, but no more than that.

Don't get me wrong, I know Ellis is a top performer, but having watched possibly more NRL games than I care to remember, I can honestly say that Ellis wouldn't fill me with super excitement. He runs good lines and is arguably the hardest working defender in the wests side, but it's alot of money to pay for a defensive player. Im happy to be proven wrong but I can pretty much guarantee that comparing Manu and Ellis' stats on SL website at end of next season, Ellis will make more tackles but Manu will make more clean breaks. The question us which type of player would you prefer.
