Foster has paid the price but why Gaskell isn't in there is a puzzler. Its quite simple that Hohaia will go into 6 with Lomax at 7 but from there its complicated. Meli back out onto the wing? No thanks but then TMak would have to drop out if Wheeler were to go back in at centre.

Jamie foster wouldn't have played last week either if Ade was fit.

Most of the mistakes of the last three weeks were made by Foster and/or Gaskell (excluding penalties given away, which seemed to involve our senior players mostly). Both need a break.

I agree that it makes sense to take a little presure Gaskell every now and then but the question of who we play there is a tough one.

Wheeler looked lost last week and I don't think lance is a natural halfback.

Saved him for what exactly? I don't understand the logic behind resting a player for the most winnable of three games where we are clearly the underdog? Play him against Leeds and try to get at least 1 win. This way, it just makes 3/3 defeats more likely as the other two games look remote chances given how those sides are currently playing.

I didn't say they are saving, I said looks like they not risking him as he's obviously not 100% fit. No point in playing him if he's still struggling with the knee then losing him for the next month.

I wouldn't agree at all that Gaskell has made 'most of the mistakes of the last three weeks'. The Hull FC saw most players at their worst but last week against Bradford, Gaskell was one of the strongest players. Dread Wilkins kicking game on Sunday, and not confident we can bouce back anyway, especially with all that's happened at the club this week and present form.

I said he and Jamie Foster have been responsible for most of the mistakes over the last few weeks. If you think back then, with the exception of Lomax and Clough passing the ball to the opposition, I'm probably there or thereabouts in my appraisal of that one.

I'm not sure what you're struggling with. I DON'T agree with your point regarding Gaskell. I'm not going into my opinion of Foster, but will say I hope he's soon back on excellent form, the potential of which we saw last season.

Over on Redvee someone has posted some hearsay: that a player or players have said that four of the senior players have been inputting into training and gameplan this week. If true, that highlights the inadequacies of the current coaching team.

You didn't read my original post correctly.

I put responsibility on Gaskell and Foster, not just Gaskell. So I am not, as you stated, saying most mistakes were made by Gaskell. I'm saying he and Foster made the most mistakes between them.

Maybe if we have the senior players inputting into training we might gain the type of team we had under Daniel Anderson another inadequate coach who required senior players input.

Daniel Anderson listened to a suggestion which related to the size of his players. That's very different from four players helping with game planning and coaching per se.

And we do not have the same team as we had under Daniel Anderson. One day some fans might also realise it.

TP made the most costly mistake, and given his experience, was the least forgivable. The kids will make mistakes. Senior players should be able to take a dolly pass.

Oh I agree with that completely. In fact, it could be said that TP cost the coach his job. Had he taken that beautiful pass from wello which was a gift then a win at Bradford was likely and we could now have been going into the Leeds game with a confidence boost.

If tis is true that means Wheeler will be at centre against Hardaker id imagine?
