Definitely, Hohaia will be no slouch as a replacement.

| Hohaia played well at hooker as replacement for Roby one of the positives aspects we can take out of today's match so no worries there if roby is out for a few weeks .What really miffed me why no drop goal on the last play no "LEADERSHIP " and we had the position to do it

Very true, I was thinking the same. It may have been a better option to go for the drop goal and settle for the draw.

| I don't see losing Roby as a massive issue. Sure, he generates impressive stats. But stats are often highly misleading. For instance, they say nothing about [iquality[/i of distribution out of dummy half. If Roby has a weakness - and I'd say it's a fairly large one - it's that he's never been a great thinker in the mould of a Buderus or a Lowes.
Yes, we will undoubtedly take a knock in terms of yardage. But if someone like Hohaia or perhaps Wilkin can provide just that bit better service out of the ruck we may do ok.

I think it's a massive blow, most things we do well in attack come from robys scoots and breaks that put the other team on the back foot.
Even Royce has said that and if he can see it then it's obvious.

Amen.
We need better more skilful distribution from dummy half in the game rather than the scooter hookers who Stevo loves.

| Did those killing our season see this match.
Lance tore it up at hooker. Runs from dummy half, splitting the Huddersfield markers. Roby is a machine but he did nothing in todays match that made any impact before he went off. Roby is undoubted a talent, but he is not a God. Personally, I'd run that play a few times whether Roby was injured or not. Lance just picked up the gears.
Roby is not Saints and we will progress on without him. We lost by a point in a highly defensive game. It wass good, competitive and close. I seam to recall being told we would get beat by 20+, we did not we lost by 1. A loss yes, but not a omen of the end.

Phil Clarke stated last week that Roby 'passes the ball more than any other playeer in Super League'.
So if he just runs and scoots every time, how do you explain that one?

Of course, I was very relieved to only lose to Huddersfield by a point, I was expecting more to be honest. But re-read that first sentance, who would have thought we'd have been saying that?
Saints have ignored the playing squad since the stadium progression started. The choice of coaches has been awful, the player retention decisions have been shocking, the recruitment has been lazy, illjudged and clearly not sufficient to maintain a 'top' Super League side.
The club just gives off the vibe that it doesn't care about winning anymore. It doesn't have the passion it used to have. It's the same on the terraces, our fans are utter rubbish, the most pathetic bunch in rugby league. No noise even when things are going well, no support, poor away followings and the way they act so wronged whenever we lose.
I just can't figure out where we are as a club, or where we are headed. Are we in transition from the last side that won a trophy for us? Or given that was so long ago, are we now through the transition? How long do we give this side? Are the likes of Foster, Makinson, Shenton, Wheeler, Lomax, Gaskell, LMS worth persevering with or should we look at it again? Fullback - Need, Wingers - Fine for now but no threat from either wing, Centres - Shenton is alright, Halves - I like Gaskell and Lomax personally, Front row - Utter rubbish, Back row - Completely average apart from Sia. It looks to me as though we're half the squad away from winning a trophy again and rather than in transition, it appears we're back peddling.

Most of the above could be agreed with but i do feel the poor away following isnt truethree away games generated highest crowds, and the noise level yesterday i thought was very good, admittedly at hull kr no noise in the bus shelter stand, but you are correct are we gradually going down hill each season
