IMO turner is a better signing than manu.

Surely this has now dragged on too long - 17 pages on here supports that. I was under the impression that he - Manu - was to have made a decision last week based on the comments from the Hull Management. Surely there can be little doubt that we are now being used to up his offer from Hull.

I get the impression he's already told Hull that he's leaving.

There's no word yet on the FC board as to his decision. As time goes on, the more I think he'll stay

They have been quick enought to discuss their dealings with both Manu and turner so imbpretty sure they would announce it if he's agreed to stay.

Exactly. Saints, or any other club for that matter, wouldn't be able to announce to Manu's signing until September 1st (unless Hull give their permission), whereas Hull would be able to make an immediate announcement if he was staying. So basically no news is good news as far as we're concerned.

However, I do expect hull to make public that Manu is leaving (if true) but I doubt they will name which team he's going.

Now that Royce has been sacked and we are winning again the has been nothing else to debate, I've been pretty bored on this forum to be honest.

The fact hull have said they have give Manu a deadline suggests they have to tell the hull fans of his decision.

They have been very public in the Manu saga which says to me it's an attempt to tell the hull fans they tried their best but he's gone for the money.

With them given a deadline means the fans will demand to know.

Given that the apparent deadline was last week; I assume (or hope, just to end this speculation!) we will hear something this week.

a rediculous idea by Hull to give a deadline now. Officially he can't talk to any other clubs until september, so why the rush? we all know the reality is that deals are worked out months in advance, but Hull have backed themselves into a corner here

The situation needs to be resloved so that if Manu has decided to leave Hull,they need to know so they can move on and identify other players to take up that cap space.

It's not ridiculous at all. It's how Eamon McManus should have handled the situation with Kyle Eastmond. We might not have ended up being laden with the liability that is Lance Hohaia had they been more ruthless with Kyle.

Its entirely the same situation, its not about putting pressure on a player to sign a new contract,its about the player in question letting the club know ASAP what his intentions are, if he wants to stay and sign a new contract then so be it, if the player tells the club that he intends to leave and go elsewhere, then the club can look at utilising that contract money on finding a suitable replacement, it cannot be left to go on and on because if the player then decides to leave you are left with cap space and no quality available to fill it with.

Great player, but a three year deal on a very high salary is a big risk.

At first really wanted him to stay but we have priorities in other positions IMO.
