| it was a tough game as expected our forward rotation got us home in the last 20 mins we conceded some soft trys which we haven't done of late so something for us to work on, your problem is your forwards Amore was blowing like a tug in the last quarter it was 2 tackles into the set before he was even back in your line and the big guy Wormsley does not play enough minutes which puts pressure on your other forwards to play longer.
The walsh injury was very unlucky for you but you was dominated for field position so weather he would of really mattered who knows you made the most of your chances anyway you was only on our line 3 times in first half and you scored every time luck forward to meeting you in the top 8 play offs for another good game best of luck for the rest of the season hope the injury to walsh is not serious hate to see that

| Our defence was a shambles at times. Certain individuals are dropping off 1 on 1 tackles that should be bread and butter for them. It's really letting the team down as a whole. The last Hull try in particular was incredibly disappointing. Turner had him wrapped up but then falls off him for an easy try.

| I thought your boys did okay yesterday actually. We had to dig very deep to grind a win out. I think after the last time we met you obviously came with a plan to get off the line quick, get lots of men in the tackle, and slow our ptb as much as possible. For the most part it worked pretty well, but if the ref wants a quick game it's hard to play like that without conceding penalties, and that's what happened. It was a very committed performance though, and you definitely troubled is when you had the ball. It's the best I've seen you play since Warrington (I haven't seen every game obviously). On another day with a more lenient ref you might have got something.

| Thought it was good game. FC looked like we might run away with it at 12 - 0 as we were looking pretty good and bombed 3 tries after this. But then our boys forgot the game plan, got a bit loose trying to force it and we lost it for a while.
I thought Saints did well in coming back with 3 unanswered tries, you looked the part and from then on it was a good contest.
Your right, our penalty count was low. But this has become a feature of our play this season under Radford. The penalties we give away are at an absolute minimum and it really is making a difference.
Giving way 10 penalties is the kick distance + lets say 4 tackles =approx 80metres x 10 = 800 metres.
Our boys are getting away from the PTB quick and its really paying dividends.
Ok Saints this season arn't the force you were, but your still on the fringe and no-one has the devine right to be top dog.
We know that at Hull FC only too well.
This season salary cap is really letting the quality of coaching and youth development have a major influence on the league table.
Anyway 5th place is not the end of the world......like it appears to be last years treble winners.
Saints will be there or thereabouts in the shake up I'm sure of that.

| I wasn't at the game so I listened to it on Radio Merseyside and have watched the highlights..
It seems from the commentary we were completely hopeless for the first 25 mins and then we sort of woke up.
After that our attacking threat was good for the rest of the match but our defence was as dire as ever (Turner & Vea missing soft one on ones) with a lot of soft tries. The one that stands out was near the end when we went for a short kick off which was caught by an Hull player who demolished Turners weak attempt to tackle him and then goes over.
The ref sounded terrible and contrary to what the Hull fans on here say, the ref was definitely a homer. The crowd were very vocal and on his back all the time to penalize us.
The commentators were going nuts about the pen count, saying the ref marched us back 10, then took another step backwards and then calling off side. The also felt that the LMS pen near the end was a fair one on one ball steal.
I don't know as I wasn't there but a pen count of 2-12 seems extreme given that both teams are almost identical for giving away pens for the season and I can see why KC wasn't happy.
It also looked like our 1st try came off a slightly forward pass.

| You really struggled with our ruck speed, like all teams have in the last few weeks and the only way to combat it was to try and slow us down, luckily for us Hewer was on it and you paid the price.
We also had two try's disallowed, would have to see them again, but your 3rd shouldn't have stood.
You played some good fast rugby, but individual players defence(Vea and Turner) plus Amor massive error let you down.
Great support from your fans, some funny chants.

Amazing how much of a detailed insight you can have from a radio commentary

| Would not lay much faith in Merseyside sports crew who tend to be a little on the biased side, also I sat in many press boxes, remember you are not seeing the picture! I heard some real bad calls wrong names etc, decisions.

By the sounds of it, you've worked with Ray French
I'm sure Alan Rooney is just his support worker.
Ray: and er....Kyle Amor....er...runs it in
Alan: that's Vea, Ray!
Ray: Penalty to Saints, er...they should go for the two, Alan!
Alan: It's a knock on, Ray.

| The ref constantly having to tell saints to get back 10 yet they ignored him and only penalised 3/4 for it...Cunningham was clutching at straws and sounds like a man who is expecting the bullet before long..

| No worked full time for Radio City for 21 years, never forget being with Clive Tyldesley now ITV Football covering a Great Britain game at Central Park, he was doing it for all the ILR network & IRN, I did a two page chart with decisions on in pictures and their meanings, he had never covered a rugby league match before, but he was a big name! Best ever for me was a guy David Oates with Radio Manchester he was spot on, pleaded with BBC & RFL to replace French, sadly he died too young at 50, last 8 years he was their Manchester Utd match guy.
Agree completely with assessment of Ray & Alan show, more Morecambe & Wise, perhaps okay once. was impressed with Cullen yesterday on Bug Bash.

Radio Merseyside will never change anything unless somebody dies. The head of the station a few years back wanted to get me on to do comedy shows about Merseyside. They were well up for it. Then forgive the pun, I got radio silence. I was told a year or so later that the idea was put to bed by a certain influential radio presenter there.
Ray's been fantastic over his career but it needs a younger spin on it now and get someone to work with Alan Rooney, he should be the main man now.

The radio humberside commentators said that he was letting you get away with everything, 2 of your tries should have been disallowed and you should have had at least 2 men sin binned for persistent offending but these local radio bods do tend to be a bit biased towards their local clubs

Sounds as though hull were almost faultless in discipline and played everything to the laws of the game, up to this game they were averaging 8 penalties a game.
