Hopefully Potter has the backbone (i doubt he does) to keep Longy out of the team when he is fit, assuming Kyle continues in his current form.'"
Why do people have this blind hatred of Leon? It's ridiculous. He was our best player last night by a long way, I've rarely seen a player work as hard or be as committed as Pryce was last night.

His craft will be learned over time, but the raw potential should be obvious every week, surely? Or maybe scrum halves have quiet matches?
As for the point about contracts ... either the club aren't willing to commit as yet or Eastmond isn't. Either way, I'm not worried. I'm just glad we've snapped up Wheeler.'"
sorry i don't agree. IMO Kyle is showing more than enough raw talent every week.
I also think we are fooked without Kyle as he the only player who looks like making a break.
I think at this moment in time with his attack and his goal kicking he is the most important player.

Dwarfs, Gnomes, Halflings/GNOME2.JPG The new young dynasty of super saints is coming to a ground near you.

I,ve been impressed with Leon Pyrce this season, he's doing a lot of good stuff that often goes un noticed, in defence for instance, for example Friday nights double tackle on the 2 wigoon players. He never fails in being in position for the 2nd phase attack. What annoys me is when he isn,t making breaks and scoring trys people say he drifts in and out of the game when he is actually doing the "un-noticed stuff".
Can,t wait for Eastmond/Pryce(Little and Large) to fully click into place, then the opposition will have something seriously to worry about.

I agree. Leon does work hard even when he ain't at his best but if you ever mention wilkin going missing nearly every week the is a uproar.
Leon is a born winner and that shows on the field.

| Any criticism of Pryce on last night's performance is utterly ridiculous IMO. I didn't think he was MOM but he tried everything to break their defence down. Don't forget, he is having to try and form a partnership every bit as Kyle is.

Now, that I do agree with, especially at present with our injury/illness woes.

That annoys me too. He is everywhere, working hard defensively and popping up as needed, usually to make a great pass (one of which would have made a great try last night had Gilmour not dropped the ball!) or kick or whatever. He's had to be a man with a mission this season given the absence of Long (twice) and others.

pryce has too much weight on his shoulders, very bold statement !
pryce was missing in most of our games first half of season. And please don't give me any bull about a court case because i will puke.
Both defenses were well on top on friday, eastmond scored the match winner with a touch of brilliance, good work imo.

If he is going to be one of our key players I expect him to perform in his role consistently enough for us to be able to have confidence in his ability, both now and in the future. I'm not saying he should never drop a ball or make a wrong decision or pass inappropriately
That's an utterly ridiculous post.
You appear to be expecting a 20 year old player, who has been given more responsibility than ever before to be playing with a 30 year olds experience.
You show no consideration for the fact that he's probably never played in a game with that intensity before and been expected to be any more than a support player.
He does need to learn how to influence games more consistently, but that is the point, he has to learn, as in he doesn't have the experience to do it yet. To [iexpect[/i him to be able to do that at this point in his career is either indicative of ridiculous, and unreasonable, expectation or a lack of understanding of the nature of sport.

Bob on.
Is it any wonder young players fade out when they get expectations like that put on their shoulders.
You get the odd exception Farrell, Sculthorpe, Edwards etc.
Noble has said about Tomkins that he is a very good player but don't put him in the Universe team yet.
Cut these young players some slack, they need time to develop.

Before calling my post, why not read it? I spoke about consistent [ipresence[/i. I fully acknowledged his skill and decision making, etc, etc, would take time.

Stevie wonder could tell he was a good player.
The point you make is he spent 75 mins in the shadows, and needs to be pivitol in his position.
Stop trying to be mr.cleverdick and post something either positive or negative and not have a fence post stuck up your backside.
Of course we would like him to be running the show for the full 80, in truth name me a player that has done that every game they have ever played.
The fact is even in another 5 years he wont be running the full 80 in every game, but he will no longer be a "prospect" maybe even then he will have earned your approval!
The interesting thing for me is if the lad keeps it going until longy comes back and gets better, does longy walk straight back into the team?
zip it
