I would also put Meli and Makinson ahead of him, so he would only get back into a Saints side for me if Meli retired and we did not get someone else in of good enough quality to replace him.

Foster would be 6th choice winger at Saints so it was in everyone's best interests that he left. Even from today, the pace shown by Percival and Swift showed them up to be more dangerous than Foster. Added to Meli, Makinson and Gardner and there was never room for him. Good luck to him at Bradford though.

Well, he had no need to mention Saints or Hull by name but obviously he wants another contract. However, Cummins is already offering him one so it's not like he has to impress anyone. However, it was the comment about the fans that I found more interesting.

As for being behind Gardner and Meli, that shows just how daft Saints are. Even watching the young guys out there today it is quite clear there are better options at the club than Gardner and Meli.

And Meli wouldn't have thought of that runaround that Foster played on Thursday night if you'd sat him in a room all day with 'runaround' written all over its walls.

I was a bit gutted when he left, he was one of my favourite players and I just didn't think he had a fair crack of the whip. Oh, how we could have used his kicking at times this season! Looking at our wingers now though, you can see why he was let go as he wasn't going to be selected much. Hope he does well at Bradford or wherever else he ends up though!

In a nutshell. It's a salary capped sport and he would have been a pointless retention IMO. We have plenty of other, better options in the backs.

Shame on you all for biting. No one in their right minds would consider it a mistake letting Foster go. Clear fishing expedition.
