Total rubbish.
It doesn't happen when its a Rovers game or a Hull City game.
It only happens at FC games.
Now, either it's a very bad case of coincidence, or there is a definite link !
I'll let you decide.
And yes it does give the full city a very bad name indeed. However half of the mindless idiots on the Hull Fc forum think that because it happened over 1 mile away from the ground that it isn't their problem.
They don't seem to have the intelligence or forward thinking to want to do something about it as it will inevitably affect attendances.

Away fans will find any excuse for why they can't be bothered to come to Hull, at the moment it's violence, the other month it was ticket prices, for traveling to rovers it's the poor away end (you can always stand somewhere else).
Admit it's just easier to miss them than it is to go.
You have to make the long journey twice a year, hull and rovers have to do it for every away game and yet they still manage to have the best away followings.

Has happened a few times, usually in the same areas, probably the Hull FC fans still, right?

What would you suggest us Hull fans do about it then?

IMO the hull board need to set up a meeting with hull police and try and come up with the solution, if thats a escort then so be it.
At the end of the day, if these bricks break the window they can seriously hurt someone which wound be dire for hull and also rugby league.
I'll be honest, I won't go to any of the hull games away, I've seen trouble first hand and I'm not going all the way to hull to be abused and attacked to watch rugby game and I'd certainly not take my son there.

| I did give a simple suggestion on the previous page that Saints also used when there was similar trouble at Knowsley Road, Hull fans per se cannot do a lot unless they know the culprits, in which case a phone call should be all that is required.
The police should still told by the club that this is a pattern of offenses, regardless of whether escorts can't be paid for by the club, they are aware that their matches are being targets by the local crim's and the polices job is to protect the public, whether that be the locals getting abuse from local yobs or those same yobs attacking coaches.
As for the 'excuses' for away supporters. I had no such qualms about Hull until I had to spend over £200 getting my car fixed. In the end it ain't worth the cost of the ticket to a match.
You mention the away prices too, well I'm sure that would put some off as well. The distance is not too much of an issue on a weekend. Friday night yeh I'm not going to do a 2 hr journey to hull, but on a saturday or sunday, it's something I have done in the past and is not too different for Saints fans from getting to places like Wakey.
Dispite Wakey not being as classy a stadia, the questions about differing ticket prices and trouble does not crop up. If other clubs had similar things going on but where getting good away followings because they where closer, then your point about distance would carry some weight, but the point is that these are two topics that don't crop up elsewhere. One is of the clubs control (differing ticket prices) the other is not within their remit of control (the local crim's), but they can offer suggestions to away clubs to mitigate the effects.

Les, it sounds like your trying to make out that all the trouble only happens after Hull fc games, if you read some of the comments you would know Rovers have there fair share of idiots too, we was acused of taking paint to Cas not long back if you remember.
Both rugby clubs should work closer with the police to sort this out though.

To be fair mate, it's hard to show respect when our fans are getting bricked.

| bewareshadows;
The ticket price thing has been done to death, away fans get the second cheapest area of the ground, home fans pay less for the same view as their tickets are been subsidised by the owner. Bottom line is if your happy to pay £20 for an open terrace at Leeds you can't complain with £23 for the best stadium in RL.
As for the trouble, the fact you have personally been affected makes your reason for to going valid and understandable, no fans should have to deal with that. I myself had my car smashed up by Leeds thugs and I live in Leeds.
But even with all the excuses, if Hull was closer more people would go, simple as.

| Quote Airlie Street="Airlie Street"I'll address a few points people seem to be ignoring.
It is a legal requirement to put on police escorts for official supporters coaches at the football (part of the scheme to encourage people to travel in the aftermath of the hooligan era). It is the home club that foots the bill, hence no rugby league club does it because it's too expensive and not compulsory.
Hull would LOOSE money given an average away following, (running costs to open the north stand, extra staff and now police escorts), would not be covered by 300 people paying £23.
I agree something needs to be done about it but while it's not the clubs fans causing the trouble, it's not the clubs responsibility and it would cost the club money to fix it, I don't see what you want them to do.
On another point don't pretend it's the reason you don't travel to Hull, you don't travel because it's too far, everyone else (excluding the expansion teams) is within an hour or so in the car, so when it comes to missing the odd away fixture the Hull ones are top of the list. Away followings to Hull are appaling and have been for years, make all the excuses you like but if it was 15 minutes down the road there would been thousands of saints fans today not the 500 or so that turned up.'"
I would suggest that it IS the clubs responsibility to do something about it.You have a problem with supporters coaches leaving your ground being damaged.Had the window been the drivers who knows what might have happened. The club and the police should sit down and work this problem out.Every supporter is entitled to a safe environment.
FWIW I have travelled to Hull every year for the past 6.Allways parked on the official car park and never once had any trouble.I for one don't have problems with away matches at hull

| All clubs should take responsibility for the safety of visiting fans. I refused to visit Warrington for a few seasons due to having the coach I was travelling on come under attack from the local idiots. The last time I went there was trouble there too, so yes it puts me off travelling to Warrington. We got spat on at Leeds so it puts me off going there. I don't go to Craven Park. If rugby league wants to maintain its family centred reputation, ALL clubs need to help each other and try to eradicate problems. I still haven't read exactly where the coach was bricked, anyone read where yet?
