I said the exact same thing to my dad. I said pryce has been very very quiet and its a good job because when he is on top he is a good player even though everybody hates him in super league!

I'm not Jesus Christ, I've come to accept that now.
XBrettKennyX wrote: Once more the anti SC brigade, purposely or otherwise fail to see the point. Thick as pig swill.
:2595.jpg

Pryce needs an organising seven next to him to play at 6, whether he'll have one that can do it to the required level next year is another question, he hasn't had it towards the back end of this year and it's shown. Whilst he may not be the greatest 6 to play the game, you don't play the position in a team that beats the Aussies on their own turf if you are completely incompetent and unsuited to it. He has the ability to play at 6 as long as the team is set up to allow him to play to his strengths.

The combination of Eastmond and Wheeler at half back next year would be disastrous for both the club and the players though.

SAINTS THE ORIGINAL AND PERENNIAL CHEATS For sale full Saints kit (circa 1989). Shirts in pristine condition, but shorts badly soiled. For 27 - 0 you get a trophy For 75 - 0 you get sod all. Wigan had eight in a row Saints have five in a row:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_3076.jpg

Couldn't agree with you more. Look what happened when we tried it with Robinson & Brown.

Look how long it took Leeds to really kick on with Burrow and McGuire (Dunnaman was used to cover both positions for a while to let them bed in)

Quote: D.D. "Except Pryce's main assett is his broken field play and his running game, which was not Scully's main assett. Also, Sculthorpe could pass a football, kick a football and organise his team mates, all skills that are completely alien to Pryce.

In other words, the two are about as similar as Ellery Hanley and Barry Ward.

Leon Pryce is a broken field player and just hasn't got any of the organisational skills or tactical brains required to play a pivotal role such as 6 or 13 unless he has a 7 at the side of him that can do all those things for him.'"

See above regarding the difference between playing LIKE Scully and achieving Scully's results. No one denies Leon lacks much of Scully's subtleties, but in ATTACKING THE LINE - especially with ball in hand he is remarkably similar to Scully. Like Scully he is almost always the first person to hit the ball on third tackle close to the ruck and on the burst when it looks like the pack is going nowhere. Like Scully he is the primary pivot from twenty yards in. One dummied his receivers whilst the other steps away from them.

Quote: Mugwump "Not at all. If you analyse the way Pryce attacks the line, when he attacks the line and how he directs the team around the park (barring the kicking game) you'll find an awful lot of similarities between him and Scully. Indeed, I'd say Pryce has stolen a good bit of his game.

Understand that there's a difference between playing LIKE Scully and achieving his END RESULT. Leon could never hope to achieve the latter, not least because he lacks Scully's physicality. But you can't deny that when he hits the ball early and on the burst from the dummy half on second or third tackle there isn't a sense of Scully about him.'"

Personally I don't see how a player hitting the ball up from the same place and point in the tackle count equates to him being uncannily similar to another, but each to their own.

sadly what your saying makes sense - you also forgot to add the influence of Sinfield on the Leeds team from 13 - his precence allows Mcguire to play his running game
