It lets the players and coaches know that, as a paying supporter, you are less than impressed with what you are seeing and a kick up the ass is the order of the day. "St Helens supporters demand entertaining rugby" say the press. - but how would anyone know if the fans stood politely and applauded everything that they witnessed? I've booed Saints twice in my time and appaulingly both times were against the pies - but they flaming well deserved it, especially when you're 0-60 down at home! No, it didn't get behind the team, so I suppose on those occasions I wasn't a 'supporter'.
I do take on board however the booing of a team that is top of super league.
Personally I thought it was fairly weak by our standards given the dross being dished up on the pitch. What happened to sit-ins or "Sack the Board...etc?". We've gone soft
