Now the defensive aspect of the game is being given a fair crack, sides are beginning to realise they need a bit more then one man quick ptb's.
I do agree with an earlier post of yours that the game has been poorer this season.'"
Think your right its a pretty good post mate...we're going through the same stage however IMO that the NRL went through 5 years ago when it became a boreathon....SL is pretty much like that IMO at the moment.....ive never enjoyed watching RL less in 20 years of watching the game this year, yet when you watch a game like last weeks orgin, you can see how great the game is.
The problem with SL at the moment is like the NRL was, teams have tightened up the ruck area meaning that you cant get easy breaks from running acting half previously one of the most used ways of making a break. Hence teams are trying to find new ways to break defences yet the majority of players in SL are currently very bland and void of ideas in this department as they have relied on dummy half running and offloads for so long....Thus the majority of time you only get tries now is when mistakes are made by the opposition, ie/ missed tackle/ dropped ball etc. which makes the game very bland and very boring.
Hopefully we will move to an NRL style of play and follow them further as our game develops in the next few years, where we will see a return to deeper or varied running lines, dummy runners, inventive switches etc. as we used to see in the past as players and coaches will realise they need to up their skill levels and re-discover classic rugby league attacking moves.
