Quote: Kelly's Eye "Supposed to be the highlight of the day at Murrayfield yet clearly Long, Graham, Pryce and a few others in your superstar squad were not in the slightest bit interested, a total disgrace from so called superstars of the Super League.

Totally blatant lack of respect for your fans who have travelled by those who's wages they pay, French Connection UK'in prima donna that Long and well well past his best, what a useless tart, got everything they deserved.'"

Started a topic on here last week pal about Long being past it(at least for a title challenging club), not as a knee jerk reaction to his performance against the bulls but based on the majority of his performances over the last 12-18 months and the injuries suffered. As i expected though i was shot down by those who wear the rose tinted glasses. For whats its worth i believe we need to be starting with either Wheeler or eastmond at half back now; and before i am shot down again by those who think that both are too inexperienced & will cost us games, i agree, however that is only what is happening now with Long. The benefit though when throwing kids in at the deep end is they will learn very quickly and even quicker when learning from their own mistakes

I think it might help, but this weekend is more important for his long term prospects

Quote: Noel Cleal "It was Wigans cup final, they wanted it more. '"

That certainly seems to be the message that Saints got out there clear as a bell. The Sky guys tonight on Boots'n'All agreed that Saints didn't really want it, the press men agreed that Saints didn't reall want it, a goodly number of fans on here, elsewhere and IRL agree that they didn't really want it, and Graham and Cunningham at the very least said they didn't really want it. I think we all know that Saints didn't want that win as much as Wigan did, and boy did it show in their performance!

I hope next time they make the decision that they don't really want it, especially against Wigan and particularly in a place that cost serious dosh to get to, that they remember there are fans involved in this and they should want it for the fans if not for themselves.

If Graham and Cunningham didn't want to play, Potter should have made the decision and dropped them.

What annoys me about many on here is that there have been very few who have said that Wigan played well (and they did). It's all been about excuses for not wanting to play etc.

Yes Saints were poor but were beaten by a far better team on the day. Wigan should have won the Maunday Thursday game, Saints were very fortunate to get away with that one.

Wigan did play very well, some posters here have commented on how good your defense was in particular.

This is the Saints board FFS, not the Wigan board! What do you expect? You want Wigan to be praised? Then go on your own board! icon_rolleyes.gif

As has been said by others, Wigan played well. However, that doesn't change the fact that we played e. Personally, I would have much preferred us to play out of our skins like we did at the last derby; it would have been a riveting match then, regardless of who won. As it was, I was totally disappointed, switched off by halftime, and was almost as close to tears as Eddie Hemmings, who had clearly looked forward to that match as the highlight of his weekend.
