I got Scroobius Pips album last year for a bargain of £6 on vinyl and wasn't expecting much at all but it really is a little treasure.

Madness' live audience are a bunch of knuckle draggers - They make Oasis' live following seem almost articulate.

For whatever reason, they just attracted a large group of racist skinheads.....I think it was the almost 'simpleton' nature of their music and slightly aggressive persona which proved so appealing to them, again you could say the same thing about Oasis' following.

Ellie Goulding - She's a grown woman, yet sings in the style of a 5 year-old little girl and sings the chorus of her latest single 'Burn' in the style of an 8-bit NES game, totally infuriating.

Jessie J - About as urban as me, sings cliched 'i'm a woman, i do what i want' songs. Got her break from the BBC because she's young, white, and lesbian, ticking 3 of their boxes.

Katy Perry - Completely ordinary, first song was about her kissing other girls, obviously not done to garner attention for herself at all. Can't sing. Cliched 'stand up for yourself' songs.

Will.I.Am - I was surprised to find out he actually wrote Empire State Of Mind, as that's a good song, but his stuff that he releases under his own name... garbage, autotuned speaking over synthed crap

As for your rants, I agree that Jessie J has been elevated into her present status by a lot of UK industry bigwigs, who wanted to create their own Katy Perry/Pink type act, but as for Perry, I don't quite get your gripe - I don't think she has ever set out to be any more than what she is, which is a bubblegum pop act who does passable pop tunes which appeal to a mainstream market.... Personally, there are, and have been over the years, pop acts who are a lot worse than her.

I disagree, but that's the beauty of a democracy, right?
