2022 State of Origin Game 3 - Contains Spoilers
With the series neatly tied at one game apiece the scene was set for the mother of all State of Origin deciders Queensland´s Maroons took on the Blues of New South Wales for the 2022 bragging rights. The Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane was a sell-out in advance of kick-off as a nation held it´s collective breath.
After demolishing the Maroons by 44-12 the last time out, New South Wales were the clear favourites for the series win, despite the game being played in front of a partisan Queensland crowd.
Both Brad Fittler and Billy Slater made a few changes to their sides, most notably the Maroons losing the services of Cameron Munster and Felise Kaufusi.

| Absolutely fantastic from the build up, through the game, the commentary and Joey John's spitting his dummy out at the end. Players being allowed to play, and allowed to play it tough.

Couldn't agree more. Epic game. Top class refereeing too.

| Great game. I wonder what ban Hodges would be looking at in SL given Holroyd got 10.

Some reports said they might just get a fine. Don't you just love seeing a bit of biff though? A game like that with so much intensity and passion, you expect it to boil after. Then after the sin binning, neither player carried it on when they returned. Its a contact sport, such a shame that over the years it's been sterilised

icons077e_files/5454-3678dentheman-msnicons.jpg Your job is to say to yourself on a job interview does the hiring manager likes me or not. If you aren't a particular manager's cup of tea, you haven't failed -- you've dodged a bullet.:icons077e_files/5454-3678dentheman-msnicons.jpg |

| Why do fans think players punching each is such a great spectacle - its out and out thuggery and doesn't belong on the streets never mind on rugby field. Hard tackling yes, great running, passing and kicking yes - throwing punches go watch a boxing match where they really know how to punch if that's your idea of entertainment.

I can't explain why I or others like it. I've been to boxing and didn't particularly enjoy it. I've never thrown a punch except on the rugby field when passions are high. But there's something that raises the intensity when some fists are thrown. Maybe it's the neanderthal in us.
The players go up a few levels and the atmosphere does too. At the end of the day, I watch rugby to be entertained. Seeing a few punches once in a while, in a safe environment, does entertain and gives people talking points. Rob punching Lauaki will always make his highlight reel, not a reel of shame.
Don't need to worry though. Can't see it coming back into the game, especially over here. (And there's a difference between 2 players standing face to face throwing punches (like in Wednesday's game) and someone throwing a thuggish punch (Flower on Hohaia)
