| Better than what we have and will save us some salary cap. Happy with that.

| Not sure how I feel. Luke is a great player but has been out for best part of 2 years.
Fully understand why Cas took the money but feel like it will come back to haunt us.

Thats what i was thinking, and he is not and never will be as good as hall of famer Andy Gregory.

But Gale will be in a better condition and more professional so might not have Gregory's talent but will hopefully provide more for the club.

| Agree with all the above. We don't know how he will come back from the injury so it is a gamble but Myler is ham shank and not too many quality halfs going around that are available so probably worth the punt. Lets wait and see

| Being controversial, Gregory looked incredible against poor athletes. He himself was never fit by today’s standards. I’d say that a direct comparison of him and Gale would favour Gale. If Gregory had access to today’s training methods, and could be bothered to use them, he could well have been the better player.
It’s nostalgic, but had to compare players of different eras.

Regardless of training different times training methods, gale is not even close to being in Andy Gregorys league.
That said if he (gale) is even 90% as good as was in 2017 be is better than what we gave got out of Myler.

| Gale would only have to be 60% of what he was in 2017 to offer us more than what Myler has

| Absolutely no problem with this as far as I’m concerned (as a Cas supporter).
Cas have been offered a sum of money they believe is fair and Luke has been offered a fantastic deal. He only had one year left on his Cas deal (with an optional year at the club’s discretion) so any further injury would have seen him out of contract and in a very weak position to negotiate his next contract. As it is, he’s got a guaranteed high income for the final years of his career, regardless of future fitness.
I think it’s a gamble from Leeds’ point of view, but that’s rather off-set by the fact that if named as a marquee player, only 75k of Gale’s salary will count towards the cap. That could be a very astute bit of business for Leeds and allow more spending elsewhere.
I wish him well. He’s been nothing but exceptional during his time at Cas. From 2015-2017 he was outstanding. But he’s barely played for two years, and you can’t miss something you haven’t had.
He deserves the opportunity to make as much money as he can in the final years of his career.
