I would normally agree but Holroyd could be banned and injured and I think we need a bit of experience at the moment, it’s worth a punt IMO as we’ve nothing to lose

| He's worth a punt.
He was a very good prospect at one point and he has a lot to gain by performing well.
I'd prefer young kids but at this point in the season with only 2 wins I think this is worth a go, although in the same breath i think Leeds should be aiming higher and securing the services of a top proven prop.
I think a world class prop pretty much solves our problems barring more injuries.

| Why the hell not? The guy will probably contribute more than Crosby.......deafening silence from the club about him.

| Another "project" signing ,defensively he's as much use as a traffic cone that's already a major weakness so adding more woes to it makes no sense at all.

| All arms and legs with a good offload. He will just a gut for a month to earn a deal. Could be useful off the bench to add something different. I know he caused us problems last season for Widnes.
Whether he's good enough for Leeds needs to be seen but worth a look for nothing.

| If we're trying to get rid of players to increase room on salary cap surley this is a step backwards?

Not when you’re not paying them no.

The difference is that the old regime signed up 'project' players on long contracts, whereas Furner and co. are being more cautious.
Honestly, what have we got to lose? No-one is talking about giving him a three year deal.
As has been pointed out we're almost threadbare in the forwards now, including Holroyd.
We also need to replace the likes of Ferres, Ablett and JJB (hopefully!) at the end of the season, if not earlier. Hopefully Cameron Smith will kick on and get promotion; the likes of Donaldson and Albert can prove whether they are worthy of a squad place in the coming games.
Some posters seem to imply Leeds should only promote youth and sign the very highest quality players from other teams, but what if a) the kids aren't ready (Holroyd doesn't look capable of big minutes on a regular basis) and b) the best players aren't available or we can't afford them? The club cannot work miracles in these areas (which some seem to expect), hence the talk of a long transition.

We are looking some quality in the pack full stop, but particularly we lack some physicality.
Albert will bring a bit of that and take a bit of pressure off young Oledski to get us forward (and Peteru).
Tactically he could make a lot of sense, at least until Crosby and /or Ward are back fit.
