| Might be reading too much into this, but IF the rumours of Ryan Hall going to rugby union were true, then Ash Handley would have been given a long term deal right? Instead he's signed for only 2 years. 2 years to try oust Hall or Briscoe then he'll do a BJB? If he'd signed say a 5 year deal, I'd be thinking that Hall was going.

| Probably putting 2+2=5 here really. Lots of reasons why handley has signed for two years. Maybe Leeds aren't 100% convinced by him yet - he does have the odd clanger in him. Maybe he only wanted two years so he doesn't stagnate if hall and briscoe stay.
Though for what it's worth, I don't think hall will go to ru.

| Maybe it is in anticipation of Hall moving into the backrow?

| Given Briscoe's injury record he'll probably see plenty of game time in that 2 years. Although, I think once he fills out he'd be more suited to Centre anyway.

| I'd have thought Handley moving to union was a more likely scenario than Hall doing so.

| I think Segeyaro's arrival has been key to Watkins staying - he's been getting better service and his enthusiasm seems to have picked up as a result.
Also in the YEP today is a story about McD staying for another year...

He won't need to, Westerman aka 'the chauffeur' has plenty of room

It should be next year really as he made his debut in 2007. Watkins should be 2018.

| They tend to make it a decade after becoming a regular first team player don't they? Ablett debuted in 2004 but only got his testimonial this year. Hall only played 8 games in 2007, Watkins didn't play even half of the games in a season until 2012. In any event if I were Hall I might want to delay it to 2018 as crowds will be down next year, and having testimonials one after the other may reduce the amount you can get as well.

I think it's more a case of when they can fit you in so to speak as we've had so many over the years. Bailey had his in 2014 and we gave Peacock one in 2015 so Ablett had to wait. Pretty sure Hall will get his next year with no other player in line.
