| I'd shift Watkins to the left and have Keinhorst on the right. Assuming Hall can't play as badly next week (unless it's on purpose) then I'd load the left with all our biggest attacking threats, Ferres, Watkins, Hall.

| If it comes to it surely Ferres plays centre before Frog.

| As our top tackler we need Delaney to stay in the pack.

| Last I heard they were hopeful McGuire, Ablett and Briscoe would be back playing at the end of March. So hopefully the Easter weekend games vs Cas and Wakey. Golding out for longer maybe 2 months at least.
Apparently Baldwinson took Achurch's place on the bench because Achurch fell ill......Achurch, the guy gets a chance to work his way back into the first team with absentees and bleeding misses out again for some reason. Probably won't make the 17 now with JJB and Garbutt back in the forwards next week.

| The Ferres I've seen so far had been at best ordinary. But we are generally way off ( a very low) SL standard at the moment.

Interesting! It has been well stated that Watkins plays on the right because that is his more 'natural' position.....but does anybody else remember Watkins' debut at Magic Weekend when he helped make Eric Anselle's length of field try? He played LC ...and Senior our recognised LC was actually moved to RC (very very unusual) to accomodate him. Why move Senior there - alien to him - if Watkins' 'natural' position is - and was then - RC?
Anyway have always wondered how a Watkins/Hall partnership would go.....but always thought it might be on the right !!
Either way, unless we improve on getting quick ball out there it's all largely academic

It's pretty obvious Achurch is taking the proverbial p*ss ....but then maybe he feels it is reciprocated.
Baldwinson was probably very excited at about been given his opportunity....only to fail to recognise McDermott's policy of often treating one of his subs as invisible and no better than selecting a wooden dummy to be 17th man.

This
Delaney was always the most cumbersome of centres even in his younger days debut season.....you might as well play Cuthbertson there for all the good that would do.

Yep he'll be frustrated but Singleton once had to tread that path and people were saying McDermott was ruining him, but he looks just fine now.

| To be fair I think Baldwinson was going to get on for the last ten but Galloway did a JP and told the trainer to do one, not that ten minutes is adequate use of a bench spot anyway.
I can't help but wonder if Mac doesn't trust them he'd be better starting with the young lad with say Cuthbo on the bench. Early game errors are often less vital and he could always turn to one of his more favoured players off the bench.
In terms of injuries, it's only a major issue if both Moon and Handley are out, we can cover one or the other but not both. I'd like to see it be a next man up from the academy (young lad in headgear that played on the wing boxing day, or possibly that Cam Smith at centre?)
Loan signings as alluded to by Ma are likely to be slim pickings, maybe someone like Escare?

When Hudds lost Grix they mentioned on their board about maybe going for Escare but surely Catalans won't help out us or Hudds when we're going to be battling it out together to try and make the top 4. But then again I suppose Hudds were daft enough to loan us Lunt in 2012.
