| Handed his notice in at Leigh. We've got to be in for him. Sutcliffe at 6 isn't working. Should be at 13. We all know Mac won't play kids until he's forced, so as much as I'd like to see Lilley stay in the side when McGuire returns, we all know he will drop out. Brierley and Mags could be a cracking combo.

| No need, he's already our player for 2017 but we're loaning him back to Leigh for this season- when did Frosties say it was going to get announced?? .... Which makes reports of him activating his get out clause with several clubs being in for him no sense. LOL
Anyway, he and Paul Rowley were at the Salford Wire game last night. Sure there'll be a few rumours going round there.

| Handing a notice in doesn't mean that he has to sign for another club. Look at his previous retweet. Elsewhere, Chase in rehab.
Rowley and Brierley were also at Warrington last week and Huddersfield the week before, don't make anything of him attending the matches.
As far as Ryan is concerned, he has a deal with Leeds for 2017 onwards.

| Why would he hand a notice in at Leigh if he is already a Leeds player ? Surely he would just return to his parent club.

Not sure what you think Brierley will bring that Sutcliffe doesn't. The Catalan game showed that Sutcliffe is a half back with a very good future but he's still raw and needs time.

| Let's not beat about the bush - if Brierley was as good as some on here seem to think he is, a SL club would have made Leigh an offer that even Beaumont couldn't refuse before now.
He's come to prominence as a support player in a dominant full-time side in a predominantly part-time league, with plenty of space to be flash in because his forward pack are intimidating all and sundry in front of him. Noticeably in the Super 8s he found plenty of holes to hide in when those around him weren't bossing games against better sides.
If signing Brierley means either Sutcliffe or Lilley gets shifted out of the team (or shunted to another position that doesn't suit their game) then it's a piece of short term thinking that I thought the club had grown out of by now. If he doesn't come to Leeds, I won't be complaining that we've somehow missed out on a superstar.

I'm still trying to work out how he isn't playing for us already considering Leigh didn't get promoted last year.

This.
Exactly.
I also wonder how well his fairly blatant politicking in front of the TV cameras with various team-mates and his ex-coach would go down with a prospective employer.

| He is a poor man's Danny McGuire and that was when Danny hadn't developed his game beyond support play. Danny was a better player at 21 than Brierley is now.
Why anyone thinks he can add more than Sutcliffe is beyond me and Sutcliffe has yet to demonstrate he can cut it at the top level

Sutcliffe has played plenty of games that show he can cut it, he was on fire last year before his injury and last week seemed to be getting there, and reads the game very well. It was good to see him kicking more last week, and managed to force a few drop outs, something Ive never seen Brierly do, he might be a good signing, but not if he takes Sutcliffes starting place

Well, Brierley would've scored that interception vs Catalans that Sutcliffe didn't for a start.

| On that basis, we may as well sign Britain's fastest 60 metre runner and hope for the best.

Whilst a few have called for Sutcliffe to play 13 I personally don't think he's ready to play there YET in his career. We usually pick someone who can do a load of tackling in the middle and whilst he can tackle I don't think he can give you that 30+ tackles required on a weekly basis.
Next week away to Wigan and then at home vs a Saints team that like to run down the middle, Defensively I'd certainly prefer others named at loose.

Well said Andy. If we just want a half back to support play, sure Golding could do it. Otherwise, in Sutcliffe and Lilley, we have a crack future pairing. They just need time (which obviously isn't something some people on here are willing to give)
