Read in the Aussie press that Nathan Brown is trying to sign one of our forwards for Newcastle - I'm guessing it's either Stevie Ward or Singleton - would hate to lose either!!! I know Ward has previously told the club he fancies a crack at the NRL.....

Interestingly, it also states Brown is trying to get Roby, and that Saints wouldn't stand in his way - that would be a HUGE loss for them - he's pretty much irreplaceable.

A Church is rumoured to be going back to Australia and with Newcastle, maybe that's the player, doubt Ward or Singleton would be heading to NRL at this time IMO still developing in Superleague, may be later though ?

As for Roby, he was offered several lucrative deals to go to the NRL a couple of years ago before he signed his latest new deal to stay at Saints. He chose not to go as his immediate family didn't want to, can't imagine that has changed suddenly now.

Roby is touching 30 now,if he was going to the NRL he would have gone when his pal James Graham left imo.wont happen now.I could see Ward giving it a go but he would be wise to give it a couple more years of SL where he can now establish himself as one of the best back rowers around. Same goes for Singleton, his opportunity is now with JP and Kylie leaving, he isn't the finished article yet and would be wise to leave it a few years before moving over if thats what he wants to do.

There was no firm offer, but he had the feelers out because he wasn't getting enough games at Leeds. Since then he's bulked up, moved out of his parents, and developed into one of the best back rowers in SL. I think he'll be in Oz within 3 years

Correct but Stevie certainly was made aware of his oppoertunities both then and further down the track
