| Having seen the interviews BMC has given and the lack of effort over the last 2 months from the team, except the Cup final. Is it now time for a change in leader and also move on some to the Key players.
Bailey, JJB, Danny McGuire, Kirk all given great service, but our squad is getting too old.
Pie Eaters and St Helens manage to find a young strong pack, we need to do the same.
6th Place is also our worst finish since 1996. Its not acceptable !

| Where on earth are we going to find a young strong pack from in the near future.I'll be shot down for this but other posters seem to think the youngsters we have got need more time.Yet other rivals seem to have no problem strengthening their packs. Our better forwards this season have been Ablett,Peacock , Kyle, Brett, and JJB (albiet injury ravaged). The rest cannot bust their way out of a paper bag.Singo just seems to cough up ball on any kind of contact.

| Singleton will be a quality player IMO, still only 21, hopefully baldwinson will get some game time next season. Cuthbertson is very good signing.
I'll be very surprised if we don't see some player movement before the start of next season

| Something needs to be done, there needs to be an inquest into the second half of the season, with crisis meetings and soul searching.
Relegation form second half of the season, the wins that have occured generally have been narrow.
We ignore it at our peril. Inaction is decisive.

| People seem to lay the squad at mcdermotts door. Its always been hetherington who controls the squad. Mcdermott just mis-manages it

I am sure though there will be a seasons review by GH.Just hope that there is some positive conclusions and action plans drawn up.

| come on guys, we all know that come December (with no new signings added) GH will be coming out in the YEP saying how much a difference Cuthbertson will make and how our younger fringe players have gained more valuable experience this season and he'll finish the article by proclaiming the 2015 squad to be the best assembled...ever

Exactly there's a large part of it there. I remember McDermott spoke highly of Daryl Clark a year or two ago, I bet he'd have preferred to have him signed over Aiton, but he's not the one that makes that happen.
Hetherington has gone out and gotten him quality in the backs that McDermott has happily put in the first team like Hardaker, Moon and Briscoe......what's he been signed in the forwards? Griffin, Moore, Cross, Achurch, Hauraki, Aiton, Yates......been a bit lopsided in that regard. He MIGHT'VE finally been given a fully fledged good one next year in Cuthbertson.
As the top talent is already tied up for next season we aren't going to see any changes to the playing staff realistically for 2015 barring maybe one or two fringe guys going. Around next May/June/July we need to be announcing the captures of at least 3/4 genuine starters, not just ones who might squeeze into the 17.

| I do agree with the forward signings. Cuthbertson will be the first forward we've signed for two years, and Achurch was the last before him. Hopefully Cuthbertson will be more Delaney than Cross.
On the other hand, it could be that Leeds have simply believed that some of the younger forwards would turn out better than they have (so far)? Wasn't Baldwinson being touted as the future of Leeds last year?

| Moore ,Griffin Aiton and Hauraki whilst "signed" by GH were Mc.D picks Achurch was a result of the annual GH "scouting trip" down under wrt Yates seeing as he hasn't played yet he can hardly be judged!

| Hurray another thread on the same topic.
For what it's worth, I think we have to give Mac another season. Let's see how he can handle next year as, without the 'challenge cup elephant in the room' pressure on the team, we surely have to be finishing 1st or 2nd to mount a serious challenge.
Bringing in someone else now wouldn't benefit us IMO.
But I know that doesn't sit well with the football fans who think it's the only solution to rotate coaches every 6 months.

It's not actually true anymore. Hetherington has done numerous functions this year where he has stated that team affairs he rarely gets involved in anymore, and the whole rugby side is controlled by Brian.

6mths?
He has been here a bit longer than that and IF he stays another year then whoever comes in has literally a new Team to construct in his first year!
There are big changes to be made over the next 1-2 years do you see MC at the helm to make them?
Personally I don't but at the same time should he stay then the "Coaching set up" needs sorting the "as and when" part time help is ridiculous we got away with it in the first half of the season when everyone was fit and firing & CC in one off games but when we hit the wall form wise in the SL we had nothing to fall back on from a tactical pov.
He has his favourites but as we have seen over the latter course of the regular season that hasn't worked and his "machines" have hit a wall!
The King is dead long live the King!

| Time for some new ideas (or maybe some old ones). Smith and Bluey had their moments and moved on at the right time. This is the right time for McD to move on with a very proud record. Not a criticism of the man, just the nature of the job he does.
