Let the alcoholic beverages commence. A very, very long time since I was able to celebrate this one.
I am now so superstitious about this game that I couldn't attend, watch or record it. Finally got the right combination for Leeds to win. Thank f*** for iplayer.

The song "Marching on together" is owned by Leeds Rugby Ltd, they bought the copyright from the administrators when LUFC went funny before Ken Bates.

I didn't get to watch it either and forgot that we've got Tivo just to rub salt in the wounds.
As usual I am on call this weekend and just when I thought I might get away with it a call out came in for Hull (of all places), had to console myself with the thought of the mileage charges and overtime all afternoon 
Bloody disapointed with Radio Leeds not having any commentary from Wembley though - LUFC on FM and some other nancy-ball pub team on AM - finally found proper commentary on Radio 5 live for the last 20 mins of the game on the way home. |

I have been a critic of the team for underperforming at times (especially in the 2 recent league games against the bottom 2) ...we all knew they could play better.....but you can't blame them for saving their best performances for this one. Maybe not to be condoned when considering paying spectators, but wholly understandable. A truly fanatastic winning team and a real privellege to watch in games like today.
Great to witness a sublime (now very long) chapter in the Leeds RL history ......and of course to see the monkey on the back at long last removed. |
