Bit of a long shot this, but has anyone stayed at, or had family/friends stay at, the Cosmopolitan on Briggate? Got a work reunion coming up, and it's pretty good pricewise for the night. Looks pretty decent for what it is, but you never know.

I've stayed there and wouldn't go back. If you're just boozing to the point of deafness or don't care if you can sleep then it's probably fine, though the hotel also badly needs a refurb.

Of the half-dozen LS1 hotels I've stayed in The Calls is the best & sometimes has very good special offers, in the absence of that would choose the Radisson as an efficient, well located but quiet hotel. Haven't stayed in the Leeds one but Premier Inn always worth considering for price if you're booking well in advance.

Sex in a hotel room is so much filthier than in your own bed.

Just my thoughts......

I usually opt for Raddisson Blu in the Light or The Met Hotel (formerly Metropole) on King Street. The Met is my favourite, Radisson is a bit modern for my taste.

The Premier Inn is a Premier Inn, they're all the same. Wasn't too bad last time I was there, but a bit of a stagger from the centre. Travelodge on Vicar Lane is cheap and cheerful, but has been very noisy when I've stayed there (the corporate travel people are not allowed to put me in there anymore!).

Roomzzz have a place on Swinegate in the city centre I think.

The Cosmo is nice in Leeds, but as has been suggested it can be a tad noisy on a weekend if you have a road side room due to it being in the vicinity of many bars. A number of colleagues have stayed there and have returned to stay there though as they've enjoyed the place. The restaurant is also one of the nicer hotel restaurants I've eaten in.

Other personal faves in Leeds I'd recommend are Quebecs, Residence, The Met and the Doubletree. The Rad Blu is also ok but again its in a very busy area of town that will remain busy into the early hours.

Also check out The New Ellington hotel. I didn't even know it existed but was rather impressed and that takes some doing when you're in hotels 3 out of 7 days a week
