Hunslet 18 - 24 Batley

Always chasing the game but had chances to win and maybe should have done. All the Leeds lads turned out really well, particularly Watson though he did make 1 or 2 errors. Keinhorst defence was really solid but never given any opportunity with ball in hand despite almost putting his winger in with a great back door pass in the opening minutes. Shame these two haven't been given more of a chance at Leeds, especially Watson who I would bet on being a permanent Hunslet player next year

Hood also looked threatening at the PTB's, made good yards and put them on the front foot on many occasion. He will surely be snapped up by an SL team if Leeds don't use him.

Did somebody tell Richard Moore that this game was offload practice? I can't remember him getting tackled with the ball. We need someone with an offload game whilst Peacock is out imo.

I think Hunslet are a different team when Richard Moore plays for them, full of confidence and strong. I was never Moore's biggest fan when he joined, but I am converted and he too has been given a raw deal at Leeds. He is much better player than Achurch and at the moment Singleton. He should be playing week in week out IMO.

Watson was safe all day under them high bombs and caught many on the full running forward. One forward pass and a slip up at the end was the only thing he did wrong all day. Positional play for the kicks was brilliant. Unable to show his true attacking ability though in a forwards game, although did more push throughs for the ball than you would notice - did well in defence and was under every player when the ball was held up.

Keinhorst was pretty quiet for me, but that was down to the backs not being able to break through and him being in support play.

Hood was strong and probably could have done with more minutes but always a threat.

So Watson was in contention for the MOTM, deservedly so. I was sat behing Gary H at the game and still think Watson should be kept on with a longer deal, although believe he is being released at the end of the season.

We have Achurch. He passes at will. Whether it's 'on' or not.

In all honesty Richard Moore aside i wasn't impressed by the rest younger Rhinos players, They didn't seem to me to be a level above the opposition.
