I have just learnt that Anne McDermott, mother of our coach Brian McDermott, died on New Years Eve after a short battle with Cancer.

Through this forum, I would like to send my sincere condolences to Brian and the McDermott family and friends at this difficult time.

Anne's funeral will be held this Monday at noon at St Austin's Catholic Church in Wakefield.

I understand that donations to Wakefield Hospice would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.

I too lost my Mother to Cancer only a few months ago, So i can fully understand what Mac will be going through at this very sad time

I also could not praise The Wakefield Hospice highly enough for how they treat and comfort their patients in their final days

I'd like to add my sincere condolences to Brian and Biff and your respective families.

(Just starting down the same road myself and not for the first time really regret being so far from home and feeling pretty useless.)
