I like many others I'm sure have lurked in the shadows of this board, observing the comments watching the childish squabbles, the endless debates on who is great/crap, the people coming and going, trolls changing names occasionally (Mr AP) and I have been moved to say that Otleyrhino's piece comment in 'we need another star' is the best thing I have read on here. Well said.

I moved from my beloved county 10 years ago to warmer climes but have been fanatically following the rhinos for 25 years, just my luck that they get good when I leave! But must reiterate what others have said I'm so proud to be a Yorkshire man, a Rhino and a Rugby league supporter.

I used to have all sorts of daft rituals. One that i've stopped doing was that as the ref blew the whistle for kick off i would have to take my watch off and put it in my left trouser pocket. I used to also wear the same pair of socks and pants to every game.

Did you wash them in between?

The main effect is caused by me counting the players out onto the pitch and pointedly NOT counting the opposition in the same way.

we won because i wore my tracksuit top that i have worn to the last four grand finals.
its now two sizes to big and i looked a prat but it had to be done

For me it was the worst crime to look at any of the matchday programme until after the game (apart from the team list which is obviously allowable in the world of superstition). Also now because i live abroad I must watch the match with a leeds top on, try doing that when its 40 degrees outside!

I have a friend who is convinced that if he records a televised game we'll lose. This stems back to when he got his first VCR and the first 4 games he recorded we lost then the time he forgot to set the timer we won.

To this day the only games he can watch back are those first 4 he ever recorded.
