You forgot Ali Lauititi, and would probably have Craig Innes in front of Mark McGaw, but good side.

Coleman, although he wasn't here very long, was a superb scrum-half.

No John Gallagher? [I know he was born in London, but he was an All Black which counts as an import to me].

From my time watching I'd say

Webb
Donald
Blackmore
Godden
Bai
?
Dunemann
Leuluai
Buderus
?
Lauiti'iti
Delaney
Furner

The question marks as I could only think of the likes of Ben Walker and Jamie Mathiou/Ben Cross/Martin Massala to fill those spots. I must be missing someone

My second string, running the first 13 really close would be:
1. John Gallagher
2. Sateki Tuipolotu
3. Rob Ackerman (Welsh - different country)
4. Paul Bell
5. Eddie Rombo
6. Ben Walker
7. Patrick Entat
8. Mike Kuiti
9. Wayne Collins
10. Jamie Mathiou
11. Mark Brooke-Cowden
12. David Barnhill
13. Nathan Pichi

A monster of a team, littered with some of the sport's true greats. So proud to have had these players wearing the famous blue and amber.

Hmm, in my limited time, can I find a top class import for every position? Let's see. I narrowly missed the era of top starring cameos from people like Grothe, ET and Lyons.

1. Webb
2. Donald
3. Innes (although he did play mostly at 4, could go for Iro though at a push)
4. Godden
5. Bai
6. Can't think of one, refuse to pick Ben Walker.
7. Dunneman
8. Leuluai
9. Buderus
10. Err, Barrie Mac. He's clearly very Irish indeed, and Ireland is a foreign country.
11. Lauititi
12. Furner
13. Poching

A few forwards I had to leave out on the bench: Glanville, McKenna, Delaney. And maybe Iro I guess.

Funny how in some positions we've had a lot of good players - Blackmore vs Iro, Innes vs Godden for the centres would be my top picks, beating out ET, McGaw and Peter Jackson - and in others we haven't had much at all (if Coleman's the best scrum half then that says a lot, he looked good but was generally completely ineffective in the part-season he was with us). Anyway, to play the game, and going only with players who spent at least a full season with us:

Webb (beats out ET's cameo year at fullback and slightly duff second coming)
Currie (bit of a waste on the wing but what a player)
Blackmore
Innes
Donald
Lyons (our only genuinely world class import at halfback)
Dunemann
Leuluai
Buderus
Tunks (real struggle for this - Heugh was better but at second row)
Lauti'iti
Glanville
Furner

Coach for that team would be Murray....

...which brings me to the news that McClennan is apparently on very thin ice at the Warriors. Recent results have been dreadful, and its quite likely they'll miss the play offs despite having a team capable on its day of beating anyone.

If ever a team was in dire need of a strong, experienced coach who's big on discipline, its the Warriors.

At the time he played Innes was my favourite player but I still resent him for leaving!! My oneabiding memory of McGaw is hitting a cas player down t'lane that hard it threw all the trolleys out of the river. ET was just the best, centre, wing or full back. And his style of playing would fit this team now.
