I watched the game back last night and felt compelled to start my maiden subject about our fans. It was well publicised about the poor ticket sales prior to the game, but the atmosphere we created was special. It just goes to show it's about the quality of fan.

Sometimes it seems our success has damaged our support with people not bothering to go to the big games where there's a chance of us getting a beating. But, as like last year's final, Saturday was an occasion to behold. Like most, the game was a blur to me but my lasting memory will be my fellow Loiners dancing and singing throughout the second half. Fingers crossed we'll sell out Wembley and take our revenge for 2010. A bit of quality and quantity.

I barely heard the famous "Wigan Ultras" even through the first half they were very quiet.

That second half was amazing (atmosphere wise) best I've heard in a long while.
Maybe on a par with 2003?

Seven Nation Army was fantastic, upper tier, lower tier even the side stand all were dancing and singing and even some getting there BIG belly's out!

The tributes from the players continued today. On Radio Aire Rob Burrow said he was aware of the constant noise from the fans, he didn't know what the song was but it totally drowned out the Wigan fans. He's obviously not a white stripes man ain't Robbie.
Stevie Ward says in todays League Express;
"The fans play a pivotal part in everything we do, and to see them there in the stands making such a lot of noise is just awesome. It's great when they get behind us when we're going through rough patches. It just gives us an extra edge"
There's no doubt the support played a massive part on Saturday, the first thing a lot of our players did when entering the field was to look to the Leeds end to see how many fans had turned up. I'm glad we didn't disappoint them and the praise they give us justifies our loyalty.

The band playing has had a bit stick on here from fans of opposition and even some Leeds ones too, but if they play Seven Nation Army they're alright by me.

Thought the band kept things going when the noise started to die down.

That was one of the best atmospheres I've experienced over many years following Leeds. I still can't get that damned tune out of my head!
