| When i got back from work I switched on and it was 30-12 and i thought, ok not too bad. But then i heard wiggi hemmings mention it was 30-0 after 29 minutes and i thought to myself jesus.
So you can forgive me for not watching it back. The last 20 minutes i did see, warrington were rampant in the forwards, really aggressive, but i thought some of our goal- line defence looked better, we held them up a few times.
Basically this week and last week it seems we've been blown away in the first 30 minutes but 2 top teams playing in top gear.
I may have gone insane due to stress but sometimes in rugby league i feel like a team can be pretty close to the mark but if one or 2 things are slightly off it can result in massive scorelines due to the nature of the game.
I reckon if we can get on a good run of wins (look at our upcoming fixtures, it's achievable) we could get into 4th spot and from there we would stand a decent chance, with some form of making old trafford
You look at the last 2 weeks performance and scorelines and think WTF, no chance. But you look at last week and this week, take away the early mistakes which left leeds chasing the game from the first minute, throw in a good drive from peacock, wins the collision, penalty, leeds go up the other end and potentially score or apply pressure and the game follows a completly different timeline.
The problem is we've come up against 2 of the best team in the league, said to them ''here you go, have the momentum'' in the first minute and most teams in the league will struggle to stop the ''roll'' in that situation.
I may be mental but i still think we'll be there or thereabouts at the end of the season and i reckon we'll make one of the 2 major finals on offer.

| I don't think Leeds were too bad last night. Your 2 halves were very good but your pack was owned, especially in the first half.
The other notable difference as a Wire fan was how we capitalised on our chances in the first half and didn't drop the ball in wet conditions. We've struggled to keep possesion all season in dry conditions, yet in last nights monsoon we looked as safe as houses ?
After last year I don't think anyone in SL will be writing you off.

| It's hard to pinpoint exactly where we're going wrong at the minute. There's no doubt Warrington like to go for the 'blitz' approach at the beginning of games, but we didn't help ourselves at all. We made some silly errors near our own line in the first half and I don't think we even completed a set of six until about the 22 minute mark. Our forward pack has no grunt and barely made any meters. A lot of people are saying Kylie is our best prop at the minute but I can't really remember him making any impact at all with the ball. Bailey was poor, always losing the collision, same with Peacock really. We have no creativity in the backrow - Delaney made a few breaks (he was admittedly playing in the centres at this point) but none of our second rowers look to get an offload away, or even run decent lines for that matter. At least we showed some decent goal line defence in the second half, and Stevie Ward doesn't look out of place within the team. Hardaker looks ok at the back too, though his positioning was off (the O'Brien try for example) but that's to be expected when he hasn't played there for a year or so. There's a lot to work on, that's for sure.

| The coaching staff had done a superb job pumping up the boys after last weeks drubbing. They came out on to the pitch really fired up determined to avenge their previous performance (or lack of it). Well done Brian McD and Jimmy.

| Again we lacked composure and our defence was sh##.
By the time we "turned up" it was over and Wire had Cigars out.
However our next set of fixtures may look it SHOULDN'T disguise the need for a cull and a serious rethink at the top imo.

| What I cannot get is how hungry Wigan & Wire have been even after going 30 points up.
I know confidence is low, but when Wigan made a couple of mistakes last week they were really ed off with themselves. Wire last night were quick off the block and into tackles quicker, we were lethargic and looked uninterested. Its not good enough.

Precisely! When Wigan were all dominating in the 80's they were like that. Leeds were like that under Tony Smith - they could stick the knife in and twist it. That is good coaching! TAXI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well at 30-0 after 29 mins, P Clarke's astute assessment was that 'Leeds have done little wrong really'

| The same things that have been going wrong for the last 18 months. With the ball, the forwards didn't win any collisions therefore there was no quick ptb or decent quality ball to the halves. We had no depth to our play or any structure or set moves. It was one out stuff and has been for a long time. All our forwards are the same, there is no variety and certainly no "X" Factor among them.
Without the ball, we have no set defensive pattern (witness the number of times players are pulled out of position, and how you very rarely see the same players defending next to each other on a regular basis). Our technique is poor in the tackle (with the ball also) meaning we lose the collision, and are always on the back foot. We have very little communication in defence, and make schoolboy errors like failing to number up properly. These have been common themes throughout the BMD/Lowes era and some time before too.
All of the above are fixable, with the majority of the current squad. We need to add some fresh blood(2 Props, a quality Hooker, a gamebreaker Second Rower and maybe a Centre, although some of these may come from within), but mostly we need to give the players a structure that they can understand and trust. They look very hesitant and nervous at the moment, and although there is no real lack of effort in my view, there is a clear lack of belief that they can turn this around under the current guidance.
