| My mate suggested during the game last night he wouldnt mind seeing Darryl Powell back at Leeds. Hes always done well wherever hes been, and my mate is of the opinion that Darryl prepared the team that Smith took to the GF the following year.
Not a big fan of coaches being sacked but last night I honestly couldnt see where any improvement in performance is gonna come from. Mcdermott looks out of his depth, clueless, out of ideas and exactly how he looked after games in London! We are NOT London!
Last season seemed a bit knee jerk everyone calling for his head, this season could be a sensible option!
Also, on another point, now we have Lunt and Burrow saying he doesnt want to be an impact player, would it be unreasonable to put Sinny back at Loose, Danny at 6 and Burrow to 7 leaving Lunt at 9 or do we persist with the positions as they are and play Burrow off the bench and tell him if he doesnt like it then Bye bye!?!?
One last point, Smith at FB? Worth a dabble given the position were in??

You were going well until you said Smith to Fullback. Smith to Job Centre more like. He is getting worse. Unless he sorts his napper out and starts playing well, I'd say no thanks.

Haa just a question, do we persist with Smith or do we send him down the road? I actually thought hed shown a bit of form lately. Unfortunately no one showed any form last night!

| RE-Powell i posted elsewhere that when he took over he had the nadgers to have a "clear out" trust the cream of the Acadamy and make some astute signings to go with them.
Imho that's what's needed now along with a re-think at the very top we re-group ,re-build and go again.
We can still get plenty from the likes of Sinfield (at 13) RB at 7 and Mags at 6 for me along with Jjb ,Ablett and Bailey.
The 9 situation needs resolving asap and IF RB is staying as a sub then get Ward in at 6/13.
I also say NOW it's time to get D.Smith ,Singleton ,Roche et al some valuable game-time in prep for the needed end of year clear out.
I've loved watching this great club and squad of ours bring some wonderful success and 99% of them are true club legends imo and i mean no disrespect but it's time to look forward and swing the axe.

Totally agree - why not give it a go !!
Sinny at 6 seems to be a ploy to try for MOS - not going to happen - get back to 13 and leave half back pairing to McGuire and Burrow...

| Sinfield needs to get back in the middle to defend. He's a good defender generally when around the middle third but his lack of pace out wide is an issue.
Burrow played scrum half last night after McGuire's non appearance after the break. I can't say I noticed a big improvement over the first half.

The game was already over though tvoc plus the damage and "surrender" attitude was set in stone.

| Wigan won the first half 26 - 4 and having taken their foot off the gas while blooding some no name replacements went on to win the second 24 - 4.
I apologise to Rob.

| Rob or Danny, it didn't matter last night. When the pack get so comprehensively beaten, you could have Peter Sterling and Brett Kenny at 6 & 7 and it would make no difference.

| The fact that someone is suggesting that Powell come back just shows how bad McD is! Dean Lance and Malcolm Clift were better coaches than this clown!

I understand the point you're making but would seriously beg to differ that Sterling and Kenny (I assume we're talking from around the mid eighties here) wouldn't have made a difference.
The first difference is the team plays would be structured with the forwards bossed around the field and marshalled in defence.
Jones-Buchanan's effort was there for all to see but almost completely wasted most of the time as his fellow forwards just watched his heroic attempts to show enthusiasm for the defensive task at hand. He needed calming down a little while the others needed a rocket up their collective jacksie.
