| Just read BMD's insight, saying he's got a full strength squad to choose from with got me thinking. Now we have Lunt on board for the rest of the season poss longer, we now have a good quality/recognised hooker.
Where does everyone think Robbie fits in now- Starting Hooker or Impact off the bench?????

| He will be starting hooker however I like most people i'd imagine would rather he came off the bench.

| I was hoping for the same thing. The back end of last season and the WCC showed he at his best in the impact/roaming role.
Lunt is a proven hooker who will be a good starter but is also a good back rower.
I know I said I would like Mags at FB and Rob at 7 on the other thread, but thats a pipe dream that will never happen.

| Brian McD could just change his tactics for this one as he may want a tackler to reduce Roby's impact if possible as he is their big danger man. We need to be smart around the ruck to avoid another Saints 'on the rebound' performance once again

Oh for Mr.Buderus ....let's hope Lunt (and Bailey) can wrap him up. You're right: close down Roby and Saints are clueless.

Aye, you've only got Lomax, Puletua and the big forwards that battered us senseless at their place to worry about then.
You need to be dynamic and energetic in the middle of the field and win the collisions to slow the play the ball down. Two things this Leeds forward pack - and the front row in particular - are not.

True ....but without Roby providing the go forward metres and dominance around the ruck the others don't have the platform to shine. We have to win the ruck area in this one so my tactic would be to mark Roby out of the game.

My point exactly....Roby destroyed us last time at Langtree park; Wigan showed how to wrap him up and completely nullify the rest of the team.

| How do you "mark" a dummy half out of the game, other than by winning the collision and slowing the play the ball?
If the markers are disorganised because the ball carrier has won the collision, there's naff all you can do to stop the dummy half wreaking havoc.

Fair enough. Whatever the technique that's the key: stop Roby from DH.

Well of course you have to try and win the collision and be technically smart in the tackle but you can also have a plan in mind to provide cover for the marker tacklers with tight defence around the ruck with Roby as a target. When we last played them we were very sloppy around the PTB area with a lot of missed tackles. I feel sure the coaches will have replayed the VT on that match a few times.
Should be a good game!

| We could always attack Roby in attack making him complete more tackles try to drain his energy a little.
