Reports in Aussie press that he's had a fall out with Tim Sheens over his lack of game time in the four nations. He is saying that it won't affect his relationship with Sheens at the Tigers, but would it be worth making enquiries and making him an offer that would be difficult to refuse? He's also got a European passport meaning Visa/quota wouldn't be an issue.

Why not see what we have already in Hood and McShane?

I doubt he would come into the Squad without the Number 9 on his Back.

That aside, I think we should be looking closer to home in key positions to 1) Give Home Grown Talent a Chance and 2) Strengthen the International Squad by increasing the Player Pool in the Comp.

Looking to bring in NRL Players all the time is yet another reason England do naff all at International Level.

Agree 100% with G1 lets stick with what we've got and give those 2 lads the chance to prove their worth.

Agree with G1 and Rhinoms.

Farrah is a good player but for me now is not the time to be bringing in a Aussie import in that position. We have two very promising youngsters in that position who deserve their chance and for me I would rather see them given a go

To be fair I am happy to go with Mcshane and raised this more as a discussion point to see what others opinions were.

I like Mcshane and think he's a really skilful kid. I do have worries about him not being able to do 80 mins. I know we have Hood, but it's a bit of a risk going in with 2 young uns. If either fail to perform, or to get injured, we're suddenly looking very short for cover - Burrow would end up there full time, and I don't feel that's good.

Farah is all quality - but is an 80 minute hooker again so would no doubt block Mcshane.

It's moot. Can't see the 2nd best hooker in the world coming over to SL at 27.

Of ourse we should enquire if he's available, as we should with any player of his calibre. However I think McShane deserves a chance to prove himself aswell so I won't mind if nothing comes of this.

I would say that this probably sums up my stance also. I actually think Farah would be one of the more likely to come over - NSW seem to overlook Farah in favour of Ennis (god knows why) and Young, and he's not getting a game for Oz, and won't whilst Smith is still playing.

One thing is for sure, Farah would improve every team in Super League - and our team would be better with him included. The downside would be the probable loss of Mcshane.

So we should enquire but not sign him!

With Farah in the side, we'd never get slack. In fact, we could make great strides.

I agree hooker does not appear to be a priority, but was it a 'priority' when Buderus was signed ? And does anybody now regret his signing ?

If quality is available on a long term basis and it is better ( key word ) than what is presently available, then of course he should be signed.

Would anybody turn down Ingliss and Thurston even if risked upsetting Smith and McGuire ?

I think whilst regret is maybe a bit strong, I think that many would still question the wisdom of his signing.

I agree about improving the squad we should take the opportunity if it arrives, however, as has been pointed out above, signing foreign players is one of the reasons we have a smaller player pool over here

"As you travel through life don't sweat the petty things and don't pet the sweaty things" - George Carlin [url:2cg5oc2o]http://twitter.com/AndyGilder[/url:2cg5oc2o] [url:2cg5oc2o]http://fromthewesternterrace.blogspot.co.uk[/url:2cg5oc2o] This week: Four keys to a Rhinos win in the WCC:Transparent Backgrounds/Waldorf.gif

The loss of one player who was exempt from the overseas/non-fed rules in Lauitiiti and the probable loss of two more at the end of 2012 - Webb and Leuluai - means Leeds need to be concentrating their overseas recruitment on areas of need. Hooker - IMO - isn't one of them.
