There is an absolute spiffer in the boardroom at HQ of St John. Anyone any idea of who it's by? And as the fella off Little Britain would say " I want one"!

It may be by Alf [Ginger]Burnell the old Hunslet and GB player.He does/did sporting portraits he once did one for Gary Schoefield Auctioned off for Charity ,or for Garry lol.Ginger will be quite old now,but he was still doing them up to a couple of years ago

I recently read John Holmes' book after never really knowing anything about him before. Safe to say I, like others, thought it was a superb read, and that my fellow commuters were giving me some funny looks after I was nearly in tears during the final chapter

Not sure of the artist's name, but apparently he is a friend of Gary Moorby, John's old team mate in the 80's.

As for the statue I think that his family would favour something like the picture on the front cover of the book. Hopefully the statue will stand on the concourse of the proposed new South Stand and will be a fitting tribute to the club's greatest ever servant.

To be joined in due course (but hopefully in a good few years) by one to Kevin Sinfield.

Sinfield definately his career hopefully has a long way to go but when it does he too will have a permant tribute.Its so sad that it has to be John Holmes death before he gets his club tribute
