Assuming we get the result tomorrow, I think we're in with a fair chance at Wembley.

A great defence, and some outstanding individual skills will make them clear favourites, but overall, I was not blown away with what was on offer today.

Rattle Junior's cage early doors, and keep in his face for the full 80 will negate his obvious danger.

We've done alright against them this year, but then they didn't play up to that standard.

Im a pessimistic negative sod, but i don't appreciate blind optimism and if we win tomorrow, another wembley defeat to wigan looks nailed on to me.

Really? Don't think we've got a hope in hell.

Don't know what I'm more nervous about - losing tomorrow or getting to Wembley only to be given a worse mauling than last year.

True enough, I wasn't blown away by Wigan today, although their goal line defence was something to be admired when Saints were asking questions, but I think if you can get into their faces it is possible to rattle them, and they start to give silly penalties away. We could easily have won at the DW a few weeks ago with a little more luck, so to have another crack at em we just have to worry about disposing of Cas tomorrow.

Sounds simple doesn't it?!!!!!!!!!!?

You weren't impressed with wigan?

3/4's in saints had a 95% completion rate and wigan were like 18-2 up, and if it wasn't for tomkins, it could have started to get embarassing for saints.

I mean seriously, if we had those type of numbers against us we'd have been buried by that time, and wigan were (at that point) coasting to victory.

I was very impressed with wigan.

They play like that agianst us they'll win comfortably.

I think Wigan are currently grinding out results rather than blowing teams away as they have in the past. I don't know what the error count was today, but I reckon it must have been close. When Saints were staging their mini comeback it was only Wigan's defence and a little lack of composure by Saints that kept them in front. For me they are a fantastic team but unbeatable?.......I dont necessarily think so.

Which ever side wins tomorrows semi final will clearly know that Wigan's right side defense is their weak link, Joel Tomkin's is all over the place defensively and Charnley is very week when pressurised, although he knows how to finish

That's the area to target without doubt if you're going to beat them

Stood up pretty well in the first half though when saints targeted it.

I think a touch of fatigue from wigan and desperation from saints cllicked in which produced the tries. If tomkins had just grounded the ball instead of pssing, it's very possible saints wouldn't have scored a single try.

But yes, if theres an area to exploit, then that's it.

Not much to go on.

Assuming we win tomorrow which will be hard in itself IMO we will probably attack Wigans left hand side then icon_smile.gif
Its a final at the end of the day and all previous meetings count for nothing, The RFL will hope we get there as Castleford and their 6 digit community will struggle to sell allocation.

Lets just concentrate on the semi before we start talking up our final chances.
FWIW Wigan did what they had to do and proved again they can dig in and get the result or like against Wire they can destroy you given enough space and as much as i think we'll have a chance IF we win tmw we haven't been at that level at all this year.

Wigan will be massive favourites for the final irrespective of whether they end up facing Leeds or Cas. That said, Leeds are already used to turning Wigan games into their own cup final (as Cas do with Leeds) so who knows what might happen on the day, assuming we get there. Wouldn't bet against Wigan though - they aren't Saints and have a habit of beating us in finals icon_sad.gif
