| Heading over from Salford tomorrow for the game. We setting off around 1730 and looking to get in the of Leeds. My questions are, where is the best place to park, we going to the game then into city centre after it so ideally we don't want to be too close to Headingley. We looking to leave around 12 / 1ish so anyone recommend places to go for 4, 24 - 26 year old lads. Finally what is the dress sense in Leeds are they strict on what you can wear etc! Sorry for all the questions but you opinions would be appreciated!
Thanks in advance.

| Smart casual should get yu in most places . Park on Clarendon Road .
Good luck at HQ . I ain't going . I know it is rude of me to not attend with it been so close to home , but I have had enough of the stormtrooping stewarding . Seeing this season ticket out , then it's 'on the road' matches for me . Will only be visiting HQ next season for Bulls and one or two other games that look interesting .
You are more than welcome to stand on my step in the SouthStand matey.

| As far as the area around Headingley is concerned we have a five page thread on the subject of where to park, what to do and where to get into the ground ... rlhttps://forums.rlfans.com/viewtopic.php?f
Including a rather nifty map of Headingley and its attractions done by yours truly here
rlhttps://jerrychicken.files.wordpress.com/2011/04/headingley1.pdfrl
Presumably you're talking about parking in the city centre and getting a bus or taxi to the ground, or even walking maybe others will be able to advise about parking after 6pm but I'm sure there are some streets in the centre where its free after that time, its not too far to walk but its a good long walk and only relieved by a few pubs on the way but several buses use the Otley Road route - as Baldrick says Clarendon Road behind the university is a good choice after 6pm and the ground is walkable from there if you're keen (only one pub en route though).

I remember the last time I stood on your step. I was still finding pieces of shredded newspaper in my bum crack 3 weeks later
WT for me tonight. Hope the weather keeps up.

| "I have had enough of the stormtrooping stewarding " Baldrick?
Do you mean the efficient stewarding that has taken over which means that those of us on our step early are not shoved off or have view blocked by 'fans' who find their staggering way up from the bar, 2 glasses in hand, at 7.57pm and expect to stand where the hell they like, including the 'yellows'?

Like most places, a good rule of thumb these days is that if they won't let you in wearing trainers it's probably going to be a chav-infested heckhole.
If Chav-infested heckholes and your bag, I believe de-rigeur is a Ben Sherman shirt that doesn't quite fit and some brown shoes (Rockport ideally) with thick soles and p!ss and vomit stains on them....

| Thanks for your comments so far guys! (including the spelling mistake ) I been looking at Clarendon Rd next to the Uni, how far walk into city is that? Also will be secure parking there till 12 / 1ish? Also you talk about trainers, what about smart casual trainers? pumps? boat shoes? those kind of things? Beleive it or not in Manchester other week they wouldn't let my mate in a Spoons because he has boat shoes on and yet me could see a guy in there with trainers that were talking to him!

15 minutes into CC from the Uni mate and it's as safe as any city centre spot. I guess you're looking at 'on street' parking so just do the usual and don't leave any valuables on show. Most decent places will let you in with pumps on - by trainers I take it to mean air-max and the the like! But boat shoes? Come on lad - leave them at home!! Or even better, in the bin!

I like the sound of trainers that talk to you, do they say "ouch!" every time you step on them ?
