| He has to go now. As a "glass half full" person I was as positive as possible until the last 2 weeks. Even after last week I was more than happy to credit Warrington, who were superb, rather than be over critical. However, the two capitulations in each 2nd half have been embarrassing? His team selection is extraordinary. I know Cross wasn't a great signing but he has to be a better option than Huaraki, as do plenty of others.
If we get an experienced coach now there is a chance to still compete this season, if not I feel we will end up losing in the cup, just about hanging on to 5th place and going out with a wimper in the play offs.
It reminds me very much of the Lance and early Powell reigns, only there were less decent sides around then

| He also comes across awfully on the TV. Made no sense tonight with what he was saying to Eddie. Criticised the game plan almost...but surely it was his game plan???

| Leeds failed to manage the tangibles tonight and as a consequence ended up getting swamped by way too many intangibles.

By this comparative stage in the Dean Lance reign, Leeds were 6 games into a 13 game winning streak

Hang on...that sounds like something our coach might say...

Lance was working from Murray's foundations.
While not wanting to defend McDermott, he has only made a bad team structure look worse. Many problems were evident under Bluey.
I expect us to finish the season in a similar way to 2000 unless something changes.
The last time we changed a coach mid season it began to lay the foundations for a fruitful period for the club, will GH do the same this year?

| Looks like Bradford alumni agents McDermott and Lowes are fulfilling their mission perfectly?
Except, in that case fellow alumnus McNamara must have been a double agent...
Seriously, though - this is how it went with Bradford. Yet our decline was down to lack of money as much as anything - something that should not be an issue at Leeds. I can't conceive that Gledhill might actually be proved right, so surely whatever is currently wrong will get fixed pretty soon. In fact, I can pinpoint even now precisely when: when we come to your place, fairly soon. Bulls have a great track record of giving opposing sides that have been through a bad patch the opportunity to reboot their season at our expense. We should be due an award for services to other clubs

| no clarky, biff, cross after last weeks second half performance, how many other coaches would stick with the same forwards, i liked the look of hauraki early in the season but he isnt showing any signs of inprovement! bailey should start if anything, doesnt offer much off the bench
Mcshane looked threatening at times, i know he made a few mistake but hes young and thats expected at his age you cant play at your best week in week out
Ali looked dangerous in his second stint why did mc wait so long before putting him back on?
Delaney works his socks off, cant wait for him to be moved into the pack hopefully when watkins gets back
i know some player changes need to be made, come the end of the season, we had donald, diskin, and eastwood leave last season bringing in hardaker which is a very good signing, mcshane stepping in place of diskin, and weller for eastwood which is like trading a porshe for a skoda!
i would say we are in transition and will be for another year or two, but we should be competing better than we are, its not the looses that frustrate me so much, its the performances. we've got a squad of players than IMHO 10 of the other coaches in SL could do a better job
the one postive is we look to have some good players in the 15s, 16, 18s, and 20s

| I was watching tonoght's game with my son and he kept asking me questions and I suggested he write to Mc D for the answers as I could not give them. here is his letter:
Dear Mr mc Dermott,
I was watching tonight's game and asking my Dad questions which he could not answer and he suggested I write to you.
Why can't Lee Smith catch a cold? My Dad says that that is the reason he can't catch a rugby ball.
Does Sinfield get assists for passes to the opposing that leads to a try?
How can Weller Hauraki get a game ahead of Luke Burgess, Clarkson, Pitts, MY GRAN!(Dad's comments)
Is the attractive style of rugby to let the opposition score loads of points against us. Dad said it could be as we couldn't score in over 100mins?
I sent you a letter earlier in the season asking for a game but you didn't reply. I have sent a copy to Mr Hethrington as Dad says he recruited sh*te for the last couple of years.
Yours faithfully
Little Rhino Bucs

You don't honestly think they would have made any difference do you? Replacing Hauraki with Clarkson may have been a good idea but Burgess still hasn't fixed his defensive frailties and Cross has been a bit of a liability in most games he's played.
To McDermott's credit he did bring McShane back and not persist with the silly move of putting Burrow on the bench but it was really a case of re-arranging the deckchairs on the Titanic.
I don't have Red Button but if the reports are true that McDermott said that we weren't playing off the cuff enough then he might as well hand in his resignation letter now. The big area Leeds are lacking in is DEFENCE. That's the main area where the top 4 teams are light years ahead of us. It has been blatantly obvious that this was a weakness from the first 3-4 games but the coach either cannot see this or is incapable of addressing it.
The attack was poor today. Perhaps a case of too many cooks (for a change) - McGuire didn't look upto much after taking an early knock, and Sinfield and Webb were woeful by their standards. Peacock is still some distance away from full fitness. Burrow was pretty invisible - but then again he rarely shines against non-flat-track teams.
The discipline was atrocious again. I can't help wondering if some players (e.g. Webb) are struggling to come to terms with the fact that Leeds are no longer one of the top teams and that certain individuals aren't as good as they once were, or that the game has moved on. The coach certainly doesn't seem to be dealing with this.
I doubt McDermott will go though. Perhaps a drubbing in the next round of the Challenge Cup could do it but I reckon he's here for the duration unless we fail to make the top 8 as well.

| He aint good enough, every coach should command respect of players to get the best out of them but sadly he never will. We have the players just not a team at the moment.
Forwards where pony and peacock is never fit. Why play the exile game???????
No game play but most of all no pride/heart by either players or coaching staff sad times
Get noble OR Millward in for me NOW!!!!!

| i think biff and cross would have offered us a bit more go forward, clarky has come along way in 12 months, we may have still lost but i think we these three players in the 17 we'd have seen a much more competitive scoreline

agreed why is JP playing so many minutes, yeah its gonna take him a while yet to get back into the full swing, but he shouldnt have to play so many minutes when theres biff and cross who for whatever reason unable to get in the team.
i know im going on about burgess and cross, but burgess has been one of our best forwards this year, and cross although hes made some cock up hasnt really been given a chance, i think now JP is back then cross could fit in well

| On recent showings none of our England players should get selected next Friday (bar Peacock who only gets in because he's captain) so we might not have as many selection headaches for the Hull KR game which is a potential bannana skin...although given the last two games, if all our players get selected for England & The Exciles it will force McDermott's hand into making changes which might be the kick start we need.
Lose next week at home (again) and the knifes will really be out for McDermott
