| If you are travelling to Wakefield on Sunday you are advised to avoid any routes that approach the ground via Chantry Bridge.
I would recommend that you take either of the two routes suggested depending on your location. If you live on the East side of Leeds, heading down the M62 towards Cas and getting off at J31 and then using the Normanton Bypass and then approaching the ground over Heath Common and Doncaster Road is a good shout. The other route is to come down the M1 and exit at J39 (don't be tempted to come off at J40, this is not a good option), then head to towards Wakefield but go up Asdale Road and through Sandal to the ground.
I think if you take either of these two routes you should get to the ground quite easily without having to set off any earlier than normal.

Yes, most probably mate. You might be better and quicker walking from the Bus station to the ground if the weather is good (I would say 20 to 25 mins walk) or catching an earlier bus into Wakefield to get an earlier bus out to Belle Vue.

| Alternative route from North Wakefield & Leeds:
M1 to Jcn39
1st exit onto Denby Dale Rd towards Wakefield
Straight across (2nd exit) at 1st roundabout
4th exit onto Asdale Rd at the second roundabout
Straight across (2nd exit) at the small roundabout opposite Asda
Left at the T-junction onto Barnsley Rd
Through 2 sets of traffic lights then right onto Agbrigg Rd
Under the railway bridge then, depending on where you want to park, either:
- left onto Sugar Lane
or
- straight on then left at T-junction onto Doncaster Rd which passes the ground on your left.

See above for the best train station.
Simply come down the station ramp. Turn right. Go along the road to the main road (Doncaster Road), turn left and you're at the stadium.

Other option is to go M1->M62->off at Normanton
Then either via Normy town centre and Heath Common
Or
Over the hill past Lin PAC Plastics and join Doncaster Rd Near Featherstone then into Wakefield via Heath Common

To clarify what Sam Buca meant by see above for best train station. Wakefield has two train stations, Wakefield Westgate and Wakefield Kirkgate. Kirkgate Station is nearest Belle Vue and is probably 10 to 15 mins walk. Westgate is at the other side of the city and will probably add another 10 to 15 mins on to your walk to the ground. Trains from Leeds go to both, but if you get on an East Coast train you can do Leeds to Westgate in about 10 mins... no idea exactly how long it takes to get from Leeds to Kirkgate, but bet it is much, much longer!
Although, Wakefield Kirkgate is quite frankly now a complete crap hole and should generally be avoided, even in broad daylight!

| I'd say Sandal & Agbrigg station is nearer. The stopper train that goes to Wakey Westgate goes to Sandal every hour.
