$1.8Mil over 3 years wtf.
Now I'm confused, I'm not the most knowledgable on the in's and out's of the salary cap but $1.8mil funded from 3rd party payments just seems beyond belief that they are even going to lodge a contract with those terms. I read last night that it was Russell Crowe who slipped up on tv and told the cameras for the first time about the $1.8mil contract. |

How do you figure that out?
The NRL has a significantly looser salary cap than SL for example, with all sorts of large third party deals being exempt and "marquee player" status.
If rugby union or AFL are prepared to throw ridiculous sums of money at young men who have never played their game before, let them. I'd rather NRL (or SL) clubs didn't bankrupt themselves trying to pay unsustainable salaries to specific individuals.
The game in Australia will be around long after Karmichael Hunt (and potentially Greg Inglis) have left it, such is their production line of talented young players. |

Not sure if you noticed but I changed the G and I to capitals because it's a name and they need to be capitals. Try find where I did it.

Yes I agree I would much rather not bancrupt ourselves rather than trying desparatley to hold on to them. It not a major issue for nrl he will be replaced and I thought he would have gone to RU |

I agree with everything you have said. I would like to add that imo if they want to go to Union or the ARL purely for money then let them, fook off, have a nice life Hunt, Falou and (potentially) Inglis. Its clearly not there preferred sport as they would have taken it up in the first place. Inglis is in a very very fortunate situation. He was born with natural talent. Its up to him how he wants to use. |
