| I notice he's in the NZ squad. Hopefully that will have helped GH in his compensation negotiations.

| A great shame really re Beastwood, showed glimpses of brilliance in the Leeds colours and had the tools to become a top top player for Leeds but alas not to be. Just a shame he dicked us about for a year, then couldnt settle. ATEOTD if your not commited to the cause then its time to go, just hope we can get a good player to replace him.

Compensation negotiations appear to have gone really well.

Eastwood’s return represents more than an addition to the playing roster, with the Bulldogs and Rhinos agreeing to a partnership over the course of negotiations that will result in development opportunities for both Clubs.
“There’s still a few details to fill in but I’d expect that we’ll see some of their young players come out here to experience how we do things in the NRL, and there’s a possibility for some professional development opportunities for staff from both Clubs as well,” Mr. Greenberg added.
“Certainly the opportunity is there to form a lasting relationship, one that we all can learn from.”

| Good news that this matter is closed.
Let's get someone in who like Eastwood (on his day) can carry some high octane impact.
With hopefully the nice added bonus of really wanting to be here and will give 100% and offer blood and sweat to the cause.

Weren't we supposed to have the same kind of links with Souths at one point?

| Is anyone else fairly underwelmed by this?
Personally what Im really interested to have clarified is that we are getting compo and how much. Perhaps the actual figure will never be made public but to know we got something close to the 100k we were mooting would be good.
As for the link ups - they can only be beneficial but I wouldn't want us to have let Eastwood go just to get some link ups in return.

| I'm sure Eastwood wasn't half hearted when first signing , but just failed to settle in the UK.
The stance of the club in allowing him to move on after things haven't worked out as well as expected may be looked upon favourably by other potential signings.

No doubt it will, if they think they won't have to honour their contracts if a better offer comes along.

I'm guessing it would be slightly short of the £100k originally suggested.
About £100k short.
Eastwood and the Dogs had Leeds over a barrel and they knew it. Were Leeds seriously going to insist he honoured the remaining two years of his contract and take the salary cap and morale hit of having a disaffected, half-hearted Eastwood moping around the dressing room?
It's another worthless "arrangement" like the one with Souths, which to date has produced absolutely zero. You notice the statement from the Dogs says nothing about their young players coming over here, just a flow in the opposite direction?

He's just relieved and delighted that he is back at his beloved 'dogs.
I am just sorry Leeds stood in his way for so long.

| As we didn't pay a transfer fee for him I'm not fussed that we didn't get one for him when he moved. Hardly a bad deal if you just pay the guy for the time he's played for us, it's not like we paid him 3 years in advance and now can't get the money back.
