I really don’t understand this conclusion by John Kear. Is it just me or did St Helens in 2007 & 2008 create the myth that if you win the challenge cup then you’ve no chance in the Grand Final this day and age.

Leeds have had a pretty bad league run this year but we still set to finish fourth. I think that this Leeds side is becoming more of a Brain Nobel ‘lets play when it matters’ team every year. How we won the league leaders last year just baffled me!

1 begins with 'S'

and the other begins with 'W'


I still think they have a great chance of the double.

He's got a fair point, but the Cup could work in our favour and give us some momentum going in to the play offs.
We win our next 5 games, we win both.

I don't think anyone has a clue who will win the cup or the GF to be honest; it makes for a very exciting month or so. I can't wait!

Seems a reasonable assessment. I'd be happy this year with the CC in the trophy cabinet.
It's been a pretty difficult year from the off, with the usual distraction of the WCC causing us to drop points to teams we should be looking to not drop points to. Then injury after injury after injury after injury. Never settling form wise or team wise. We lost Watkins for virtually the whole season in a year he could have really developed, but then we get a Clarkson and an Ambler, so not all gloom. If Danny McGuire had been crocked for a serious chunk of the season we would be happy just to be in the top 8 at the end of it I think.

I've never seen us lose so many players consistantly through injury for quite some time. The ending of Peacock's season sort of summed things up. You can only do what you can do, and this year we should be haoppy if we win the CC, especially as we would have beaten all the teams who were above us in the league as of last Thursday to do it. Still not lifted the cup though, so nothing won yet.

I hope he is right about the Cup we need a long overdue win

So far this season all baring one Super League team has been beset with multiple injuries. The team that has avoided these injuries has ended up at the top of the pile. Saints need their half back pairing sorting out to have any chance of winning the Grand Final. Wolves need to accept that they could win it and arent just in the mix to make up the numbers. My outside bet for the Grand Final are the Giants. Lets face it - a new name on the list wont harm the game.

As for us, I just take each game as it comes and hope the wife doesnt throw my lucky undies out!
