| In the pub after the game one of my mates claimed he saw Warrington have an 8 man line at a scrum towards the end of the first half
Anyone else notice this?

There's really no place for the likes of you on Substandard. [/quote:1x8x7ghm]:7098.jpg |

No, but Thaler pulled them up on a scrum earlier for something similar so I'd be surprised if he missed it.
Speaking of officials missing things, how was the knock on in the first half on the SS touchline near halfway not given. It was right in front of the touch judge and is possibly one of the worst decisions I've ever seen. Not big, not game changing but shocking all the same

The "obstruction" call when McGuire dummied to JJB was even worse but, again, not big or game changing. I think Thaler realised and gave us a soft forward pass decision in Wires next set of 6.

| Didnt see that but I counted 3 times that he had to repack the scrum because of Warrington releasing early or not getting enough men in - so wouldn't surprise the tbh

It happened right in front of me, for me he threw it backwards,(with considerable force) nothing wrong with that decision, as for the others..............

| I noticed on a couple of occasions that Wire left a second rower out in the scrum and young Ben made them pack down again. It could have been quite possible that he missed this 'tactic' on other occasions.

Yes I did. The scrum was fed, the ball came out and then Thaler noticed it. He took the wrong course of action in resetting the scrum. It should have been a penalty to Leeds for Warrington having more than 7 backs.
The only time you are allowed less than 6 players in a scrum is when a player is in the sin-bin/sent off/injured and you have only 12 men on the pitch as a result. Teams seem inclined to pack down with 6 men though which puzzles me. Surely you'd want to cover the addition back which the opposing team would have. Even if you have only 10 men on the pitch, you are allowed 7 backs and a scrum can still be made with just a front row. Very unlikely situation, I know.
Any fewer than 10 men on the pitch and you have to deplete your backs in order to create a front row.

That's what I thought.
