..for full back in 2011 ?

I got lambasted for daring to suggest BJB (first choice) Smith and Webb in that order. Webb can cover both full back and half back; Smith obviously wing or centre. No criticism whatsover about the present incumbent of the position, who is getting better each match.. Simply thinking about the future of the club.

Can we afford to/will we lose BJB with Smith's return on a 4 year contract ??

Injuries have took their toll on Brent Webb IMO definitely not the same type of player we originally signed, Ben Jones-Bishop, Paul McShane & possibly Kallum Watkins are players i expect to see in the Blue & Amber for many a year if given the oppourtunities their talent deserves..

Definately some tricky decisions for the coach and sleeve coming up in the next few months lets hope they get it right, have done in the past so no reason to believe they wont this time, youth is the keuy tho

Isn't Webb contracted until the end of 2011? If so he'll be the FB next year. Smith will be on the wing with Donald released and BJB either back-up or go out on loan again for another year which would be the best option IMO with a recall clause in the loan deal. Might also be worth doing the same with Watkins if Senior gets a new deal which no doubt he will. Better off out on loan at somewhere like Quins with a recall option rather than playing in the reserves and the odd game out of position for us, IMO of course.

Webb might not be flashing in attack at the moment but he's safe as houses under the high ball, is regularly looking to back attacks up and his kick returns aren't bad either.

Smith as back up as, for me, not as reliable in a defence-oriented role.

To play BJB when the above two are fit would not be playing to our strengths in my opinion.

agree with the above, smith can cover all the back line positions BJB will be in the squad next year in anticipation of Webb leaving the following year. i have said on another thread that Buderus will be lucky to get a 1yr extension and if he does some of the younger players may have to leave.

Do you ever get sick of banging on about Paul McShane?

Gotta agree on the Webb thing, not looking anywhere near the player of last few years. Think its only fair to give Jones Bishop a chance, seems to be one of the very few down Quins thats getting any praise.

Ctr - Watkins

Exactly and I think your right about Kallum Watkins been a maybe. He’s got pace to burn and can throw a good offload. I feel that he has improved since last year but something’s making me wonder if he’s improved enough.

I wish him all the luck getting back in the Leeds side but I can’t see him around here for long.

BJB and PM on the other hand are in a different league to Watkins. Its just a shame that we have two better hookers ahead of Paul because he would have been playing by now in super league.
