| Today was a perfect example of a substitution just for the sake of it. Buderus was playing well, yet as Diskin is on the bench we have to bring him on in the second half for some game time.
Fistly this isn't a Diskin hate thread, we all know he's a quality player and we've won gfs with him the past 3 seasons. But Buderus today showed his class.
So rather than having an extra forward on the bench we waste a spot with a player we didnt need. I'm all for rotating the guys every game or so based on form/fitness but this current method seems pointless and only serves to limit our bench to 3.
We should go to Hull next week with 1 hooker and 4 forwards on bench.
(and on form it's Buderus)

| Buderus played well today but so did Disko in France so hows that work?
We know he'll pick both but saying Buderus should get the start on form is inaccurate when Disko did the job well in france and lets be honest Buderus had well over a week since last thursday whereas Disko has played in all 3 games.

Absolute spot on. And whatever we do, Diskin has not produced a performance as good as Buderus today this season.
Whether we go with the sentimality factor or not, Buderus gave a very good display today on the back of a fast moving team, which is where he is in his element.

| Agree. Diskin and Buderus are both playing well but we're playing both of them for the sake of it. What the hell throw McShane on the bench for the CC game, he is playing well so give him some game time for the sake of it too.
Buderus could have played the full 80 and we could have had an extra prop coming off the bench. But no bring Buderus off and put Diskin on just so he can have a bit of game time. Its pointless.

| Let's have Disko at 13, move Sinfield & Mcguire to 6 & 7 and have Burrow on the bench! Any thoughts?

| Buderus could play on one leg and produce better than Diskin, its a shame Leeds don't have a Coach with the balls to make the right call.
And what about Delaney, hardly surprising the GCT weren't interested in keeping him.

| Absolutely spot on....ridiculous sentimentality getting in the way now. Play one or the other...have said it before. Buderus on present showing. Maybe Diskin in second row...but Kirke proved me wrong today so maybe not. Either way please please make a decision on your hooker bluey.

Thats the thing, no way in a million years will Bluey regularly leave out a high profile player.
Havnt made my mind up with Delaney. Got to consider he has a new wing partner. Will be interesting when Scotty comes back and Bluey has got to leave one of them out.

Are you saying Matt Diskin is a high profile player?

I would start buderus and have disco on the bench, as he can cover the sr and lose forward position. When I played I always liked the one hooker as you get used to their style and it moves more smoothly.
With regards to having 2 hookers I don't think itswrong or right should be assesed on each individual team. I think it works well for saints but not as much for us. Just seems trendy at the moment and rather than thinking if you need it it's almost like you have to have 2 rakes as that's the done thing.

Seen as this is his testimonial season and he has 4 GF rings then yeah I would! Maybe not to other teams supporters but to Leeds Diskin he is. It would take a coach with Balls to leave him out whilst Buderus is fit and healthy.

| So is the effect playing of 2 Hookers having an impact on our results, win or lose?

I haven't made up my mind either, but it is difficult. New country, new wing partner and injury, think we need to wait a bit longer before we judge. Look at a lot of Aussie backs in their first season

| When Buderus went off the game could have easily gone either way. When diskin came on we started firing in the points. Surey this is no coincidnece.

| The next home match, I am going to get a shirt with Buderus on the back, run onto the pitch and do sweet fa as well. Wonder if I will get the same plaudits as he does?? Maybe not because I haven't played in the nrl.
Buderus did nothing wrong but nothing special today.
