| For me, that was a belter!
Good tries, great defence, loadsa passion from both sets of players, well handled by the ref (I don't agree with all his decisions but he kept his cards in his pocket).
For me, the only shame (apart from the loss) was the injuries to Long and Burrow. Imagine how good the second half could've been...
Bring on Palm Sunday!

| One of the best games I’ve seen in a dog’s age – it had everything that makes this sport the best spectator sport in the world.
TBH if every game was that intense my heavily insulated ticker couldn’t take it.
Oh and put me down for a donkey please.

| Cracking game. Glad Saints were able to lift their game a bit after a shaky start to the season. Over the course of the season the significance of the result is minimal however

| Thought Leeds were flat tonight. Saints defended very well but we didn't ask enough questions, but it says something when Flannery is MOM. We didn't get on them and we didn't really threaten much in attack apart from Senior battering up the left (missing Ali I think as well). We had two small backs on the bench and Webb is really not anywhere near yet. At his best he's a livewire and an antagonistic bundle of muscle - not anywhere near that yet. A long way to go, but we haven't fired yet this year (even against Wigan we didn't really do much more than batter a hopeless shower). We are, dare I say this, a little short of pace at the moment. Smith and Hall really are no fliers and Webb looks well off the pace (and Burrow continues to do a "Giles" every game).
Better to come - definately - the power game is waiting with some big men missing tonight.
Having said that - you should win your home games. Saints would have been dissappointed with a loss more than Leeds I think.

| Great game, plenty of feeling but Leeds are still way off the mark ball in hand. They were obsessed with playing in and around the ruck.
We could've had Greg Inglis in the centres tonight and it wouldn't have made a difference.
Round 1 to Saints, can't wait for the next instalments.

And a very slow ruck at that. Kylie was going down almost before he was tackledd to try and get a quick PTB, but Stains were having none of it. We were the same I have to say.

As soon as we looked to spin it wide to Senior we caused a few problems, two cut out passes from Webby opened them up outwide.

| Best two sides in the league, cracking game, big hits, what more could we ask for ? Oh yes, loads of kids that have come through the system
The youth policy of the 2 BEST teams in superleague pays dividends
Saints Vs Leeds Grand Final, the likes of Wigoon and Hull full of ageing oz and kiwi will fall by the wayside.

Have you seen the Melbourne stand off recently. He makes Keiron Cunningham look slim.
Leeds' offloads appear to have dried up and whereas in the past Leuluai would have had a choice of who to finish his break tonight he had none.
Leeds' one offload of note in the 1st half by Sinfield led to Senior's try.
