| Ryan Bailey - How good is this guy? He rattles cages like no other in Super League. His huge, legal, shoulder charge laid the ineffective Maurie out. The fan fare afterwards was pathetic. He went in with the shoulder, and the Saints players who cried at that - get a grip. After the hit, Bailey stood straight up and stood his ground. Notice how no Saints player went toe-to-toe with him, just pudding Graham frothing at the mouth, 10m away. And when Graham did put him down, he was third man in when Bailey was static, yeah you showed him. And people say Bailey just does third man in. He was also unlucky when he drove himself into the un-tackled Saints player. I think the penalty was for him being too rough. Bless. He went down with his shoulder and massive body weight. I just get the feeling if it was JP that shoulder charged Maurie, for the same result, nothing would have been said. Bailey's hated by opposition players and fans. And I adore his gritty style, and I have a striong feeling that he loves it too. His huge hit dragged us back in the game, Saints were rattled and we edged our way back into it, thanks to Ryan Bailey. More of the same please Ryan.

| Can anyone explain how Gilmour was allowed to give Smith some eyegouge treatment and then a barrage of punches, and still win a penalty and not get sent to the bin?

I believe the touch judge report was that Smith threw the first 'punch' when he pushed Gilmour away. Really poor decision by Bentham that one.

| Yep, major decision wrong.
Gilmour started and finished that whole incident just after Smith had got Leeds some nice yardage on the first tackle.

| I for one am I for players smashing the hell out of each other for 80 mins, its part of rugby league, its part of our game, but what did make me laugh about Bailey was when he was able to take the ball in after the incident he bottled it and ran behind his own players then got pushed back a fair few meters aswel.
Though I`ll take me hat off to him, from what I saw on the telly, he was the first player at the end of the game to go over and shake the players hands. Thats one of the reasons you`ve got to love our game!

No.
Even the radio commentators were gobsmacked at that decision and at the scrum to Leeds that followed iticon_lol.gif

First off, as can be seen on Sky footage, while there was someone's hand in Smith's face at one point, it was brief and didn't go into the eyes. Secondly, I think it was Wilkin who ended up taking most of the punches, to be fair. If you watch it on Sky you'll see he flopped on top of Smith pretty quickly to protect him. That might have saved Gilmour getting binned or maybe Bentham just decided that it was six of one and half a dozen of the other and, given the temperature (and boy was it boiling at KR!), binning may have triggered more problems rather than solved any.

Gilmour is a thug who had to be stopped from assaulting a player on the floor.
