| In my honest opinion it would be a massive mistake for Leeds to think Brierley wouldn't be a massive improvement on what we currently have, as a Halfback or taking the Burrow/Dynamite impact role out of dummy half.
You lot can hang me out to dry on this but Lilley's effort is appreciated but if he's our future we are F*cked!

I have not seen much of him but if he was to fill a role at Leeds think it would be as a burrow type replacement using his pace.

Do you think this means Leeds are keen to "get rid" for want of a better word, or just that they wouldn't stand in his way if he wanted to go to Hudds?

| Either way it would make you feel like $hit if you are about to embark on an SL career.
I have faith in GH, I just hope he gets this right.

I cannot se him having a massive improvement of our team. Personally glad if he doesn't sign for us. He would go ok as a partner to mags but cannot see him and sutty being any better than sutty and lilley.

Brierley and Lilley as a massive improvement to Sutcliffe and Lilley for me. Sutcliffe at loose forward.

It's not massive improvement. He proved in the middle 8 last year he couldn't organise and lead a team round the park. We would just be in the same position. Also in defence we would have to hide all 3 in defence when burrow is on

Presumably player and manager briefed you knowing it would go straight into the public domain? Which could explain GH's wanting to get rid. (I do not doubt your source by the way) I guess GH will not have been impressed with the way Brierley has leaked so many stories to the press. Deals (contracts) should remain confidential until the joint club/player press release.
Speed is a great asset in rugby and something that there is no answer to. But Brierley would have to play alongside a play-maker to be successful as a half back in SL. I think he could go well off the shoulder of Sinfield and perhaps McGuire or Lilley too.

| I wouldnt mind him signing, we look a halfback short imo although I would prefer us getting a hooker.
Burrow is one of my all tim favourite players but he looks a bit lost back at 7
Lilly is a good prospect as shown by his performances against NZ and in preseason, but he doesnt look ready to be playing week in week out just yet, should go on loan once bodies are back
Brierly would provide good cover and would be a good impact player off the bench if we signed him.
He might not want to come to leeds though as there are probably some SL teams who would put him at first choice 7

| This all sounds very fishy. Why would we go out of our way to secure him on a deal for 2017 only for us to then say we would be happy to speak to Huddersfield for a £45k fee when we haven't even seen him in Leeds colours and have no idea what difference he might make to the team?
If it's true then it all sounds very poorly handled.

| Wherever Brierley goes there is drama, maybe Leeds have realised that after his release of confidential information at Leigh? Maybe Hetherington has had enough of the pantomime?
Brierley is training with Hudds at the minute.

| If Brierley has a deal with Leeds for 2017 then it hasn't been agreed with the knowledge or permission of Leigh Centurions. So, seeing as it is still before the May deadline, either no such deal exists, or it is null and void anyway as it would be an illegal approach to a contracted player.
Still, it isn't like Brierley to leak different rumours left, right and centre

| If true this is classic Darth Sleeve.
The club £45k better off and what exactly have we lost? A player we never had? Genius.

| Would he be allowed to sign any sort of agreement with you though?
He was still under contract with Leigh till end of season and there was only an official approach from us. Us paying you £45k would be admission of an illegal approach would it not? Or would there be some pre contract agreement signed? Very odd.
