We got rid of Ben-Jones Bishop to be replaced by Briscoe. I think I would rather have him back now.

Agree with you completely, regardless of what Briscoe said in Yep...he looked both shocked n dejected....Must be humiliating to have that happen to you...not the best way to handle things...Mac has named both him n Handley in 19 man squad...if he picks the same starting line up will he do it again...will make Briscoe's confidence go beneath the ground if it not already so. As Keith Senior said his coaching skills were very good but his play management/ communications left lot to be desired.

We didn't get rid of BJB , he wanted the No1 jersey not playing as a winger...was promised it at Salford didn't get to be FB so left...Was briefly given FB role at Wakey but there are others ahead of him there..so maybe accepted it not going to happen so focused on his game..It is baring fruit as currently 4th in SL try table.

If Briscoe can get his confidence back..stick with him but if he just going to get benched to shock him into getting act together..don't think will work...So would welcome BJB back , though it would depend on how much Leeds had to pay to bring him back.

I would play Briscoe against Warrington and Handley against Widnes (unless Briscoe has an absolute stormer).

It's not the first time this has happened to Briscoe. England vs Australia in 2009 he got subbed halfway through the game after struggling badly so it's not a situation he hasn't faced before.

Why had it happened again then?

We need to help him find the root of this issue. Off field problem? Confidence issue?

He's certainly a cracking player, just been out of form for a long period of time

He might have experienced been hooked during a match but that does not necessarily mean that he has learnt to deal with it. It is the same with anything some people take longer to learn from their errors. or come back from set backs.

I don't know if Briscoe reads Facebook or twitter but have read lot of negative comments on him...including get rid off him..even on his own page....I mention this as I know Galloway came in for great deal of stick on both sites...He obviously did read them as last year read ( think in YEP) that he was aware he was not popular with sections of the fans but hoped to eventually win them over. For my money coming in to fill that void left by a legend was a monumental task ..add to that knowing your not popular.....I give him full credit for working through it... He not JP or Kylie but if he can remain injury free ,give consistent performances ..he will play his part in hopefully give Leeds some success....mind whoever had come in would have copped some flak.

Another observation on Mac is going back to 2015 when Kev got injured n Sutty replaced him...when Kev returned from injury Sutty initially kept Kev out of the starting line up...he then I if I recall ended up on bench...but there was then for a while a period where Mac could not make his mind up...until he finally had the sense to allow Kev to mentor Sutty during a match.

So back to Briscoe ....he needs to boost his moral.. make him realise that he is a quality player..as said in another post...remind him not just of the 5 tries at Wembley which was great...but the 3 tries in 7 mins which for me is more impressive..Especially the try which he intercepted ,in mid air..in the rain..then ran length of pitch to score...any other team or player..media would be showing that try endlessly. The other way he could boost his confidence is ..to show he is quality is to mentor Ash Handley....after all you only mentor if you have experience n ability..so by doing that you re enforce it.

Reality is though if Briscoe is in starting line up....has the errors then he is hauled off again...or if he doesn't start , is on bench , or is not in squad at all..then his confidence will remain blown..in which case then can see him been sold at end of season.

Or used as bait in another transfer.

That appears to be a popular choice ...but we should be working to help him through his troubles...winger was not the original position that needed sorting. Also what happens when the next player hits a bad run of form loses confidence...pardon the pun but off load them for another player ? Can't keep doing that or you never have a settled squad.

Then again it don't help the other 16 players if he's playing with his head stuck up his arris. With hindsight it made no difference to the result but I don't blame McD for hauling him off.

Briscoe has been a weak link under the high ball since he came to the Rhinos. We got knocked out of the play offs to Catalan because of him too. I hope he goes. Loan Handley to Bradford or Fev. Golding can play wing. Make up with Hardaker and Walker can be back up.

Briscoe should gain more confidence from last night he looked a lot better physically & mentally.

Good game from Briscoe last night. Took the ball in well, shoes good balance when riding tackles. Didn't have a lot to do in defence but held his shape well and didn't lose concentration. One game against a poor wolves outfit shouldn't be over emphasised but credit where it's due.

I'm on the fence with Handley. He's young still but hasn't shown a lot of progress, but then hasn't had much opportunity or regular football. I agree with others that a season long loan would do him good.
