| Truly shocking first half, but we’re getting used to that now.
Miller and Croft both very good.
Lisone changed the momentum of the game.
I’m not sure I dare say this, but is this tactic of passive defence to conserve energy and tire out the opposition in the first half actually working?
It’s awful to watch mind.
Maybe we have a genius coach ahead of his time….

| Glad we got the win eventually but the second half made me feel no different about Smiths ability to get thisteam to play well consistently we're a basket case.

Another Tigers Defeat As Rhinos Go Level TopThe ‘Rivals’ Round of Super League 2024 threw together the Castleford Tigers and the Leeds Rhinos to renew old rivalries and fight for the all-important two points as the opening fixture of the Easter weekend got underway on Thursday night at Wheldon Road.A first win of the season Castleford, and by a margin of fifteen or more points, would lift them above Hull FC and into tenth place in the table, while a victory for the Rhinos would see them above the other Hull club, Kingston Rovers, and into fifth spot, with a massive points win potentially putting them higher. The home side had a fourteen-point start on the coupon, the bookies predicting that the Tigers awful start to the season would continue for at least another week. | Miller, Croft and Mcdonell all very good for me. Lisones stint was important, and I think that’s been Sangares best game in a while. The second Mom try comes from how many players he draws into the ruck.
It wasn’t pretty, games on that postage stamp rarely are. We need to be better. But at the same time that could have easily been a game we lost.
Having said all that, cas are absolutely dire. Probably worse with the ball than London from what I’ve seen.

| Beat them by a similar amount to Wigan and Warrington did in awful conditions. The only thing we can be sure of from that game is that Castleford are woeful.

| Far too passive in yardage in the first half, but the defence was good as ever. The Smith out gang so predictable in their reactions first half, it must make embarrassing reading going back through this thread for some.
It's never easy going away to Cas, however bad they might be, they want to run through brick walls to beat Leeds. We weathered that, the weather, and losing two players to HIAs. Cas put out a bigger pack and had Watts back after a medium length ban. Last season I'm not sure.
The spine is gradually looking more connected. A number of improved individual performances from last week as well. McDonnell, Miller and Croft all excellent, with lovely involvement from Lisone.
Lots of work ahead, for sure. But the best start to the SL season for a while - Smith deserves a bit more patience IMO. I don't mind losing to the likes of Saints at this stage (cup aside) if there is genuine improvement. I appreciate it's only Cas (sorry tigertot) but it was still a good game to win. Defence has improved out of sight from last year. The attack will come in time with the spine players we have.

| Are you a relation? I thought he was better in the Saints games to be honest.

He tackled everything that moved. Not sure how you saw otherwise

| Dreadful first half and thankfully Cas were not that good either.
Thought we got the 50/50 calls tonight.
Wouldn`t it be good if we had another prop like Lisone who makes the yards?
It also gives us the platform to play on the front foot.
Miller, Handley, McDonnell top 3 for us.
Reported that both Newman and Bentley failed the HIA.
Can we recall Ruan?
