Ward is another very tricky one. The thing is on his day he’s one of the best back rowers in the country isn’t he? They don’t grow on trees and most of his injuries seem structural - I.e. result of bad luck as much as anything.

His case is probably one of the biggest headaches Sinfield has to deal with.

Ward IMO when fit is a class act, he always reminds of a type of player that would do well in something like a SOO series or in a test series, look how he performed in the 2017 GF after dislocating his shoulder the week before. the major problem is obviously his injury record the poor guy has just been ridiculously unlucky or his body really isn’t up to it

I will go as far to say i bet some havn't even played the game,also what coaching credentials have they got .

We all have our opinions,but I said months ago that Ward and Watkins were done at Leeds.
Ward,great player but has to go as never fit.
Watkins has different issues apart from fitness and it's a good move for him.
It's crunch time these next few weeks so as Graham Murray said "Go The Rhinos"

If we had everyone fit we would not be in this position, unfortunately in a sport where everything is contact and high impact injuries, not everyone can have a career until they are in their mid thirties, I think that we have seen the last of the likes of Ablett, JJB, Ward and Crosby, it's irrespective how good they are, players can be world class but if their bodies and minds cannot hold up then for the sake of the players long term health they should retire and walk away with their health. It's a shame but not everyone can play into their mid thirties.

Yeah you would hope so.

As Gotcha said somewhere else though, Catalans are a physical side and with our over-the-hill-veterans and underdeveloped youngsters, we could get rolled a bit.

We definitely have the quality to bring this one home but we must match them and kick well for once.

That's the exact 17 I picked on the Leeds Facebook group. We all know that golden child we get the second row gig though!

You just never know which Catalans team will turn up unfortunately but with the way our season has gone we will probably get the good version.

McNamara hates Leeds from his playing days and the likes of Tomkins and McIlorum love to beat us too. Don't expect a walk-over, the 'good' Catalans will turn up!
