I’m glad we didn’t get him! After the Grand final and the Lions tour he went silent, he was always an active tweeter, always wanting to be involved and do charitable things. He was awful for the Lions and did nothing! He fixed his bad rep and now his NRL return is ready! It was always going to happen, he openly said he misses his dogs!

There is no such thing as marquee spots, in terms of restrictions on signings.

Precisely, marquee is just dispensation for a certain amount only counting on the cap. You can pay people whatever you like as long as you stay within the cap limit.

I realise that, But only a maximum of two can count for that dispensation which is what I was getting at and the fact TWP as well as having no quota spots to bring Hastings in, also have 2 players already (reportedly) taking up the marquee dispensation

Absolutely correct. I believe Toronto will still pull off another big signing but it's likely going to be somebody from Rugby Union so that the salary can be exempt for the first year like Warrington did with Burrell

Be surprised if Hastings went anywhere else in England than wigan, could Catalan be an option? Him and Maloney with Tomkins at FB would be a top set of pivots, albeit they might all want their own ball to play with.

I imagine that SBW will fall under the returning talent pool dispensation as he hasn't played league in the past 5 years but did previously. Half of his salary in the first year is exempt. He's getting paid such a crazy amount of money that even with the dispensation he would still be marquee 100 percent. As it's also been said Leutele is the highest paid centre in the world so he will also be marquee to fit into the cap. I can't see how they could physically fit another big name player into the cap without it being somebody from Union with the cap exempt. As for Hastings... I can't imagine that super league would allow him to opt out of a contract with Wigan to join another super league club. There may be a break clause in there for an NRL club which is much more likely

There is no chance that Toronto can make another big signing this year unless they sack off half the squad. I'm more interested who we are going after. I am told that we are looking for another player and we are meeting individuals back in OZ. Who this one player is I do not know but fingers crossed another player will soon be joining us. This person wont give a name but he has been 100% correct this year with players joining us.Does anyone have any ideas.
